Dreams in which you return to the past are not just memories. They are a tool that allows your consciousness to relive events that left a mark on the psyche. Research shows that dreams play an important role in processing emotional experiences and can help get rid of fears, stress and psychological traumas.
If you want to check your symbols, go to the dream interpretation app. It contains thousands of real examples from our project, a complete database of dreams that came true and more than 7000 symbols with interpretations that are not publicly available.
What research says about dreams and healing the past
Scientists have long noticed the connection between dreams and a person’s psychological state. Research shows that during sleep the brain processes emotional experiences and consolidates memories. Neuroscientists from Harvard University have established that dreams help reduce the emotional response to traumatic events. During sleep, the brain processes negative experiences, making them less painful.
Another study, published in the journal Current Biology, showed that the level of stress hormones during sleep decreases, which allows the brain to process negative memories in a safe environment. This explains why sometimes relief comes after difficult dreams.
Of particular interest is the “dream rehearsal” method, which is used in nightmare therapy. Patients are asked to rewrite the script of a frightening dream and change its ending. This method has proven effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder. A deeper understanding of the logic of dreams will be helped by the book “Prophetic Dreams and Lucid Dreaming”.
How the practice of returning to the past in a dream works
This affirmation triggers dreams that immerse your consciousness in the moment of life when you acquired a psychological problem. These can be any events: from the destructive influence of people to deep psychological trauma and an unresolved problem.
The main thing is that in the dream you will return to the moment when the event occurred. And by reliving everything negative, frightening, and troubling you in the dream, you will forever get rid of the stress, fears, unexplained pains, and emotional discomfort caused by blocked events of the past.
Perhaps it will be a random fright from yesterday. Or perhaps it will be long-past days, even beyond the moment of birth.
Why this works
In a state of sleep, your subconscious does not defend itself the way it does in the waking state. It allows itself to relive the event again – but now in a safe environment. You see the traumatic situation, you feel the emotions, but at the same time you understand that it is a dream. And this gives you the opportunity to release the tension that held you for years.
Imagine: you carry within yourself a situation that once caused you pain. You don’t think about it every day, but it sits in your subconscious like a splinter. It influences your decisions, your reactions, your health. The affirmation returns you to that moment so that you can extract that splinter.
Where to get the affirmation
The text of the affirmation for returning to the past is now available only in our app in the “Dream Practice” section. There you will also find all the project’s practices, dream rules and a calendar for choosing the right time.
What project participants say
Participants in our project share reports on how the practice of returning to the past helped them change their lives.
One participant said that for many years she had been afraid of dogs for no reason. After a dream in which she returned to childhood and relived the moment when a large dog lunged at her, the fear disappeared. She woke up with a feeling of relief.
Another participant said that after this practice her back stopped hurting. She returned in a dream to the moment when she was punished at school and relived the humiliation. But in the dream she was able to defend herself. The back pain went away after a few days.
A third participant used this practice to work with financial blocks. She returned to the moment when her mother said that “money is evil.” She relived this episode, but already in a dream, and was able to separate herself from that belief. A month later she received a promotion at work.
A dream that came true: a strange hotel and many doors
One of the project participants shared a dream she had after the past-life regression practice.
She dreamed that she had come on vacation with her friends and settled into a strange hotel. Everything inside was painted white. There were a great many doors. She opened one door — there was another door or a toilet behind it. From the window she saw many people looking for places in hotels. Finally she went out into a corridor that was full of people. She was wearing a ushanka hat, even though she doesn’t even wear hats in winter.
The hotel owner was delighted and said he had already prepared the bill. She replied that she was leaving only in the evening, but she could pay now too. The bill was handed to her by a little girl with a pacifier in her mouth. She opened her room, and there her grandson and some other child were being given vaccinations. She immediately closed the door. Another picture — she is gathering her things outside, it’s dark all around, the things keep falling, and she just can’t gather them up.
Interpretation: this dream mirrors her state. She needs rest. The many doors and toilets — a desire to find a way out of situations, to solve problems. The hat — a subconscious urge to “hide her head” from overload. The fact that she isn’t heard in the dream is almost the same as in life. Paying for the hotel — she can afford rest. She gathers her things, but they won’t be gathered — she can’t bring herself to make changes. The white color of the hotel is a symbol of the rest that will heal her.
A dream that came true: the laboratory and the female politician
Another participant told how she saw her past in a dream. She was in a group of people who had broken into a scientific laboratory reminiscent of Soviet times. There was a male engineer there who knew about them. They worked on equipment, then looked at a screen where a female politician was saying that she wanted to leave only a thousand people in the city. The participant was indignant and said that this way only murderers would remain around.
This dream showed that she is ready to fight for justice and not accept cruel rules, even if they are offered as the only way out.
How to use this practice
In order to enter the past in a dream, use a special affirmation. You will find its text in our app in the “Dream Practice” section.
Before going to sleep, formulate an intention: you want to see the event that became the cause of your problem. Do not try to remember it — just trust your subconscious. It will lead you to the right moment on its own.
After waking up, write down your dream. Even if it seems strange or incomprehensible, record the details. Over time, you will begin to see patterns.
Practical tips
If you want to try this practice, start small. Take one problem that worries you. Formulate a request: “I want to see the event that became the cause of my fear (or pain, or anxiety).”
Use the Dream Calendar to choose the best day for practice. Not all nights are equally good for working with the past. Lunar phases influence how deeply you can dive.
Remember: dreams are a tool. They give you the opportunity to heal the past in order to live in the present.
Check the symbols in the app. It contains thousands of real examples from our project.
And if you want to understand the logic of dreams more deeply, read the book “Prophetic Dreams and Lucid Dreaming”.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can you see the past in a dream?
Use a special affirmation to return to the past. It is available in the app in the “Dream Practice” section. Before sleep, formulate your intention: you want to see the event that became the cause of your problem.
Why do dreams help heal the past?
During sleep, the brain processes emotional experiences. The level of stress hormones decreases, which allows the brain to process negative memories in a safe environment. After difficult dreams, relief comes.
What is the “dream rehearsal” method?
This is a nightmare therapy method in which the patient is asked to rewrite the script of a frightening dream and change its ending. The method has proven effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder.

You will see in a dream an event from the past that became the cause of your problem. After waking up, you will feel relief. Fears, pains, and emotional discomfort may go away.
Can the practice be used to work with financial blocks?
Yes. Project participants used this practice to work with beliefs about money. After experiencing the event in a dream, the belief lost its power, and incomes grew.
How many times should the practice be done?
Start with one time. If the problem has not gone away, repeat after a month. Use the Dream Calendar to choose the right day.
Where can I get the text of the affirmation?
The text of the affirmation for returning to the past is available only in the app in the “Dream Practice” section.
Where can I see the interpretation of other symbols?
The full database with interpretations of all symbols and thousands of dreams that came true are available in the dream interpretation app.
About the project
Our project is a research work about dreams that has been going on for many years. During this time, the world’s largest database of dreams that came true has been collected. Thousands of participants share their stories, and based on these stories we compile interpretations of symbols.
Unlike ordinary dream dictionaries that take meanings from encyclopedias, our dream dictionary is built on the analysis of real dreams that came true. Every symbol has been tested in practice. If the same symbol matched the same events for different people, it is included in the database.
The app is a dreamers’ club with private access. Everything is gathered there: the full dream dictionary database (more than 7000 symbols), the world’s largest database of dreams that came true, practices for inducing informational dreams, diaries, and decoding algorithms.
We don’t tell fortunes or make predictions. We work with data. Symbols, patterns, correlations. Dreams show what is already happening or will happen. And it can be verified. As we do on the project.
