A mug is a vessel for drinking by one person and for personal use. As a symbol, it means the opportunity to receive something for oneself. When a person drinks, they quench their thirst. And thirst is desires. To thirst is to desire. Therefore, directly or indirectly, mugs are related to receiving something desired by the one who drinks from them.
If you want to check your symbols, go to the dream interpretation app. Thousands of real examples from our project are collected there.
The context of the dream must be taken into account. If there was something tasty or useful in the mug, then the opportunity will be there. If in the dream they drank from it, then not only the opportunity, but also the realization of receiving something and satisfying oneself will also be there. The book “Prophetic Dreams and Lucid Dreaming” will help you understand the logic of dreams more deeply.
The number of mugs may coincide with the number of people connected to the situation or event.
What different plots with mugs mean
Empty mugs are an indication that for now there is no opportunity to satisfy you.
Broken mugs are a symbol that there will be no opportunity either.
Broken dishes, especially those from home or those that you use in life, may indicate a rupture in relationships, a quarrel, and separation.
A broken mug means a rupture in relationships. It almost always means the collapse of a union. Any flaws on the mug: chips, cracks, are the beginning of the “end”.
A mug or cup on the table is a symbol of the appearance of a person with whom a relationship may develop. This indicates the beginning of a relationship.
Any liquid overflowing from a mug symbolizes the “cup of patience.”
Empty cups and mugs signify a desire and expectation of change in one’s personal life. This is if they are initially clean and empty. But if they are empty because they have been emptied, the chance has been missed.
Often the dishes and their quality indicate the status of the actors or the setting in which the dreamer will find themselves.
The stronger the drink, the smaller the vessel for it. Therefore, a mug is for non-alcoholic drinks. If in your dream there is an unsuitable drink in the mug, the dream portends trouble or disappointments.
A dream that came true: pouring compote into a mug
A project participant shared a dream that came true.
The participant’s dream:
She is in the hall at work. New Year has ended, and she thinks it’s time to take the decorations off the Christmas trees, remove the trash and leftover food. She sees scattered bluish glass beads. Some employees continue celebrating, having fenced themselves off with a barrier of white paper.
She is in an open space. She sees a real employee. He is hiding among the Christmas trees, sitting down there on a chair. She comes over and sees a plastic cup with trash to his left. She throws it away. She comes over again — another cup with trash. The employee looks at her from under his brow. She sets down a clean cup and says, “You’ll throw out the trash yourself. It’s your trash.”
Then she walks through the kitchen. Preparations for the feast are in full swing there. Huge trays of food. Mostly fried meat. Cutlets. The cooks are fat, glistening with sweat, smiling. She walks through the kitchen, sits down at the table.
The table is long, completely covered with food, but everything is covered with plastic wrap. The same employee sits down next to her. In front of her lie two poppy seed buns, each in plastic wrap. She takes the smaller one and offers it to the employee.
She takes a glass with her left hand and holds it out for someone to pour her kompot. A man stands there, smiling, takes the pitcher of kompot and pours her some. On the right, a woman jumps up and holds out her glass.
He starts pouring for her without stopping, until he has emptied the entire pitcher. It all overflows the rim of the glass onto the table. The woman yells. And the participant looks into her own glass — there’s only half.
It’s a bit unpleasant that the woman gets it overflowing, while she gets half. She says to the employee: “Should I get you a mug?” He answers: “No, no need.”
Realization:
The participant was on sick leave for 2.5 months. She returned to work after the new year. She was taking down the public Christmas tree. The employee turned out to be the prototype of the man who in the future became their employee. She wanted to build a personal relationship with him. He messed up, but she was the first to reach out. Later she realized there was no point.
In real life, this prototype helped her with one matter. She wanted to share the income with him. But, just like in the dream, he didn’t take it.
The man with the pitcher is an aspect of this prototype. He showed her attention and care. But it all ended quickly. She herself gave him a reason — she held out her glass for kompot. And he poured.
When she offers to take the mug — not pour it, not give it, but take it — he refuses. In reality, she decided to try to mend the relationship with him once more. At that time, it didn’t work out. The woman who jumped up and held out her glass — she wanted it herself and got it herself. Judging by the subsequent dreams, this woman got herself into trouble.
A dream that came true: empty mugs and failed relationships
A participant shared a dream. She and a young man are at a table. On the table are small coffee mugs. They are new and empty.
In reality, there were desires and expectations of a relationship with him. But in fact, nothing happened. The empty mugs meant that there was no opportunity. The chance was missed.
A dream that came true: a broken mug and a breakup with an ex-husband
A participant told a dream. She was washing the dishes, her ex-husband was standing nearby. A mug broke in her hands. She tried to glue it back together and cursed that nothing would work. Basically, just like in life. The broken mug pointed to the breakup of the relationship with her ex-husband.
What to do if you dreamed of a mug
If you dreamed of a mug, pay attention to its condition. Full — for the fulfillment of a wish. Empty — for a missed chance. Broken — for a breakup of a relationship. New — for the beginning of a relationship.
Pay attention to what is in the mug. Compote — for pleasant communication. Tea — for calm. Coffee — for cheerfulness. If the drink is unsuitable — for disappointment.
