What It Means to Dream of Jumping: Interpretation According to the Dream Book and Dreams That Came True

Jumping in a dream is always a symbol of movement, an attempt to change something in your life. But what matters is exactly how you jump. If in a dream you jump up in place, in reality such a dream is synchronized with the desire to make a certain “breakthrough,” but in vain. There is no movement. You spend effort and time, but you cannot move anywhere. An exception may be a dream in which, while jumping up, you manage to leap onto a certain height.

If you want to check your symbols, go to the dream interpretation app. It contains thousands of real examples from our project.

Jumping up and down may indicate a state of “emotional roller coaster.” Mood swings will not be smooth, but sharp and contrasting. The book “Prophetic Dreams and Lucid Dreaming” will help you understand the logic of dreams more deeply.

Jumping off a cliff, a mountain, a rock is a sign of a bad turn in affairs. It is a risk that can lead to a fall.

A Participant’s Dream That Came True: Jumping on a Trampoline with Her Goddaughter

A participant in the project shared a short dream. She came to a playroom with her goddaughter (4 years old). There was no one there except them. They started jumping on a trampoline and jumped for a long time. Then they left.

The dream came true like this: all day she had mood swings — from complete despondency to complete joy. By evening she even drank valerian to somehow normalize her state. Jumping on a trampoline in the dream was reflected as emotional “seesaw” in reality.

A Participant’s Dream: Jumping Off a Cliff and Flying

Another participant shared a dream. She was standing on a high cliff. She was so terrified that she had no strength to endure this fear. She decided to jump down, even though she knew she would be dashed to death. When she jumped and was flying, she felt light. The fear disappeared. She was almost happy that this horror was gone.

Then she realized that she was about to smash against the rocks below, and the thought came to her that she could fly. She began waving her arms, the air became viscous, and she flew, calmly landing in a dense forest next to the cliff. From there she quickly climbed up three rope ladders and saw a lake and a river. She wanted to swim across the river, but she saw a bridge and quickly ran across it. Then she approached the lake and fell into the water, but came out of the water 80 percent dry.

What this dream means

This dream is a vivid example of overcoming fear. At first the participant falls, but doesn’t crash — instead she learns to fly. She overcomes her fear and finds new opportunities. The ladders upward are a rise to a new level. The bridge is a quick and safe crossing. Water represents emotions, but she comes out of the water almost dry, meaning the emotions didn’t drown her. It’s a good ending.

A dream that came true: jumping and job hunting

The participant was doing the affirmations “Healing” and “How to remove the evil eye.” She had a dream about jumping, but she didn’t understand its meaning until she encountered its realization.

Two days after the dream, she remembered an acquaintance and decided to talk to him about work. In her presence, he spoke on the phone with an acquaintance of his and relayed the answer that a vacancy might become available. She asked about this acquaintance (Masha). A week later she met with him again and asked: “So, what’s the news?” He flinched: “It’s that Lera!” She almost jumped: “What Lera?! You said Masha!”

He explained: Lera is the one Masha wanted to fire. But Lera didn’t quit drinking, she has a small child, and Masha feels sorry for her, forgiving her every time. The participant thought it was fortunate that she didn’t end up in that company. The dream about jumping reflected her desire to “jump” to a new job, but she stayed in place — and that turned out for the best.

Symbol of jumping on someone: lion in a cage

The participant recalled a dream about a lion. She saw a white lion from afar, it was jumping as if calling her. She approached it and realized that it could get out of the enclosure on its own. In real life, it was a very high-ranking man in her city, married.

Another dream about a lion: a lion in a cage. The participant came close, and it lunged at her, but she managed to step away. Some woman put her hands into the cage and hung up a rag — the lion didn’t touch her. In reality, it was another married admirer. A lion that jumps, calls, and then lunges — this is a symbol of a man who shows interest but remains in a cage (married).

What to do if you dreamed of jumping

If you jump in place — you are trying to change something but aren’t moving from the spot. Reconsider your actions. If you jump up and reach a height — you have a chance for a breakthrough. If you jump down — you are at risk. If you jump on someone — you are attacking or someone is attacking you.
