What a flood in a dream means: the main meaning
A flood in a dream points to events in reality that will become an unexpected disaster for you.
The main characteristic of this symbol of the mental world of dreams is an all-consuming feeling of fear and hopelessness.
In dreams, water is emotions.
If there is a lot of water, as in a flood, these are uncontrollable emotions.
At the same time, a flood is a natural disaster and does not depend on a person.
The circumstances will be the same – external, not depending on a person or people.
You can clarify the details of the dream in the app. It contains more than 7000 symbols, and each is based on an analysis of thousands of dreams that came true. The website does not have such a database.
Seeing a flood from the side or getting caught in it
Therefore, it is very important to fully understand the context of the dream.
If you only saw a flood or inundation from the sidelines, it means that the event that will frighten you so much will be external to you.

Well, if you somehow ended up in a flood, there was a lot of water and it swallowed you up — you will be involved in the event itself, and it will be like the collapse of hopes, the failure of plans and disasters.
Additional aspects in the dream will indicate what exactly this will concern.
Flood in an apartment, house, bathroom
A flood in an apartment or house foretells scandals and troubles.
But if the water that pours or floods your home is clean, know that some unpleasant events will upset you, but at the same time problems will leave your life.
Since clean water in the home is a symbol of purification, it’s just that this purification is not always painless.
A flood in the bathroom almost always indicates illness or recovery and deliverance from diseases, if the water is clean.
As a rule, the bathroom is the territory of “sexual relations,” illnesses will also concern the sexual sphere. If there are children in the bathroom, it means an indication of the parents’ relationship.
Flood on the street, global flood, tsunami
A flood on the street indicates large-scale events that concern many people and entail great changes in life. These are usually political and economic crises.
A global flood — global life changes. Well, and if you managed to escape — this dream means rare luck and happiness in the future.
A flood and tsunami or large waves in a dream signify changes that will cause very strong emotional experiences. After that, much will change in your destiny and life, including because of your own “inner upheaval.”
All the nuances of this symbol are revealed in our app. There is a complete dream dictionary database there — more than 7,000 symbols. We even have dreams that are not in any dream dictionary, because these are not made-up symbols, but real ones that came true.
A dream about a flood that came true
This is just one example out of thousands. The world’s largest database of dreams that came true is collected in our app. There you will find stories that will confirm or refute your guesses.
A participant’s story:
Hi everyone, I’ll tell you how my dream about water came true…
I dream that I’m looking out the window in a room and see that water is running along the road like a flood and approaching my house. All the neighbors came out into the street.
Then I notice that the water didn’t reach my house, it stopped half a meter away. I think in the dream: “Well, thank God, everything turned out fine.”
That’s when I woke up. And that same day I slowly began preparing for New Year: I started preparing food, cooking some things, and decided to go out to throw the trash into the garbage chute)).
And what do you think? The door slammed shut and something got stuck there. I tried for a long time to open it, just like in the dream the neighbors came out to help, but without success.
I had to call dad (and in the dream we were watching the flood through the window together). And only when he arrived were we able to break open the door and get into the apartment!!
That was my dream, connected with water. Maybe someone will find it useful. A flood is like an emotional shock.
The dream showed: the flood in the dream coincided with a real situation when an unexpected event caused strong emotions.
Flood in a dream: what to do after waking up
Did you dream about a flood? Here is what you should do right after waking up.
Write down the dream while you remember the details. Where was the flood? What were you doing? What emotions did you feel?
Recall whether there is a situation in your life that causes uncontrollable emotions. The dream may have pointed to exactly that.
Look at whether you were in the flow or watched from the sidelines. If you were inside – you will be involved in the event. If from the sidelines – it will affect you less.
Pay attention to the water. Clear – for purification. Dirty – for troubles.
You can check the full interpretation in the app. The algorithm takes into account every detail of the dream and shows the complete picture. It also has more than 7,000 symbols that cannot be found on the website.
And if you want not just to read about dreams, but to induce them, the app has practices and affirmations. They help you receive prophetic dreams and answers to important questions.

Hello! I had an unusual dream about a flood. We were at the dacha with family and friends, there’s a river nearby, and the water starts gradually flooding everything, and we climbed up and sat on top of the fence. As soon as the water level reaches us, the fence starts growing along with us, a wall with pipes literally rises from the ground and grows, preventing us from drowning, but the water was calm, transparent, and there wasn’t much panic.
Margaretta, in the dream dictionary we interpret a specific symbol, while the discussion of detailed dreams is in the Blog, see the link

The flood in your case may indicate unfavorable circumstances, a change of plans, all due to negative social factors. In your case, a very good sign in the dream was that you were sitting on a fence and it grew along with the water level, thus not letting you drown or end up in the water. This will mean that the changes, despite their general nature and irreversibility, will not be able to “drown” you, that is, no matter what, you will hold on, although the crisis of events will make you worry. I can assume that the changes will affect your usual way of life, but not the main aspects (work, family relationships, health), rather the opportunity to spend time as before, the quality of life. The fence in your case is a sign of limitation, and as a symbiosis of symbols it should be understood as “restricting the budget for usual expenses” – only in this case will your “reserve” allow you to stay afloat in everyday life. Clear, calm water and the absence of panic are characteristics of the event itself: the changes will occur gradually, consistently, and no one will have time to get scared)).
Hello! What does it mean if I dream about a rumor of a worldwide flood? I didn’t see it, but the plot of the dream was as if it had already happened. My whole family is alive, everything is fine in the streets, and I wondered whether the man I love is alive.
I didn’t think I would get an answer…, but thank you so much!!!!
