The sun in a dream is almost always a good sign, symbol, and harbinger.
Despite this, the symbol is ambivalent, since in the storyline of dreams the sun can have negative characteristics.
In this article, I will explain what the sun means in a dream, what a bright, scorching, red sun means, sunrise and sunset, as well as two suns and the sun at its zenith. At the end, I will give one real dream that came true and show how the symbol manifested in life.
If you want to check your symbols, go to the dream interpretation app. It contains thousands of real examples from our project, a complete database of dreams that came true, and more than 7,000 symbols with interpretations that are not available publicly.
What the Sun Means in a Dream: The Main Symbol
The sun in a dream is almost always a good sign, symbol, and harbinger.
Despite this, the symbol is ambivalent, since in the storyline of dreams the sun can have negative characteristics.
Symbolically, our sun is the brightest star for every person living on this Earth.
And this star gives each of us, both literally and figuratively, both in reality and in the mental world, warmth, light, and therefore life.
Without this source of warmth, light, and energy, nothing on our Earth—that is, in our life—can develop, grow, or be in a normal state.
That is precisely why the sun appears in dreams always when we, in life, in relation to certain situations, events, or relationships, are rising to some kind of upswing.
Toward positivity, a new height, entering a positive, good, bright streak in our life. A period of successes, accomplishments, achievements, human happiness as one understands it, and well-being.
The brighter the sun shines, the better the characteristics that will mark the near future event.
Very often the sun is dreamed of specifically during periods of negativity in reality at the time of the dream. Bad mood, decline—and in this way it foretells a speedy exit from the black streak of life.
That is how our subconscious saves us, giving us a premonition of good changes. You can trust such a symbol. It is very “rigid” and will not deceive you.
If in your dream you dreamed of something bad, you experienced some difficulties, and afterward the sun appeared, the dream means that the bad period in life will soon end.
Also, in such dreams, you should pay attention to what the sun was like.
If it was bright, pleasant, illuminated everything around, and you felt warm and good (a sensation in the dream), this means that the dream marks and foretells a good future for you.
The sun at its zenith indicates the satisfaction of ambitions; very often it is a symbol of happiness and a happy destiny.
The Hot and Scorching Sun in a Dream
A scorching, hot, blazing sun may indicate a difficult period when certain circumstances will press upon you, and you will feel under some kind of oppression.
Moreover, the circumstances will be external, and you will cope with them with great difficulty. Since almost nothing will depend on you.
A red sun, a sun in haze, a clouded sun—all these are symbols of exactly the same kind of external circumstances. However, they will be negative, and will decently poison your life, bringing into it much that is unpleasant, heavy, vague, and difficult to endure.
The sun that is covered by clouds or that hides behind clouds indicates obstacles, difficulties, and troubles.
And conversely, if the clouds disperse, and the sun peeks out from behind them, it means that the period of failures will end soon.
The Sun for Men and for Women
For women, the sun shining at its zenith in dreams indicates a happy female destiny. Also, this symbol means that she is very attractive to men, who will be able to make her destiny happy and will be able to appreciate her as a woman.
For men, the sun at its zenith indicates the achievement of great global life goals.
For creative people, this is a symbol of the zenith of their fame.
The setting sun in a dream is a symbol of a happy, good, and calm ending of some period of life, relationship, or affair.
The rising sun is a symbol of the beginning of something new in life: a new period, new successes, affairs, new love, and new relationships.
The Sun as a Symbol of Time and Man
The sun can mean:
-
a certain man (the Moon is a woman, the Sun is a man);
-
the symbolism of time: a period of time—a year. By analogy with the time it takes the Earth to make a complete revolution around the Sun;
I often see questions about dreams where one, two, three, four or more suns appear – almost always this points to periods of time (years)
Sometimes both time and “number of men.” We are talking, of course, about important people in life.
-
point to periods of well-being, happiness, health.
A separate topic is sunrises and sunsets. These symbols in dreams speak of the beginning or the end (sunset) of important relationships, work, projects.
The negative aspect of the symbol: a sun covered by clouds – a change in circumstances from better to worse.
A scorching or burning sun – encounters that leave “burns” sometimes worse than any wounds.
A particular feature of the Sun symbol is that it is a rigid symbol. If it appears in a dream, the dream will be realized in the same way. The projection of the future is predetermined.
And if you were worried, anxious, or afraid about something, and then saw a bright sun in a dream – you can breathe a sigh of relief. No one and nothing will change this predetermination.
Sunrise in a dream
Sunrise. Everything that appears in the sky in dreams is what are called “hard symbols.”
In other words – events that are predetermined, significant, and play a major role in your life. There is a saying: “you can’t move the sun.” That is, its course across the sky cannot be changed.
And when you see a sunrise in a dream, it means that a new period will begin in your life. Sunrise is the “beginning of a new day” of life. It often points to the beginning of new relationships. Serious ones, important for two people. Relationships that will become “fate.”
The more beautiful the sunrise in the dream, the “more beautiful” the circumstances of the new period of life will be. Usually in such dreams people experience emotions. And emotions, in turn, say a lot. This is your inner feeling about future events.
Two suns in a dream
Two suns – this points to two admirers, two men who will soon appear on the horizon. Figuratively speaking. Most likely the time period is the same as in the dream. Recall it by the weather and sensations.
All the positions of the sun are additional indications of the “position” of the suitors. The zenith here is one of many symbols – in addition to the fact that you will be liked by men and attract attention. You will “enter” a phase of blossoming, when there will be special interest in you.
The setting sun in the East is a symbiosis of symbols – the end of one romance and the beginning of another. In such cases, one should rely on one’s feeling of the view and additional characteristics. A “pure” sunset, like a sunrise, is the “normal” ending of some period or relationship. Sunrise is the beginning.

A fulfilled dream about the sun: a new job and gold earrings
This is just one example out of thousands. The world’s largest database of fulfilled dreams has been collected in our app. There you will find stories that will confirm or refute your guesses.
A participant’s story:
I dreamed that I flew to some city unknown to me, but very beautiful. It was a sunny day. Then I found myself on a football field.
I was lying right on it in a white helmet and enjoying the sun’s rays. In the dream, I had built this stadium and was very proud of it.
The dream came true two months later. I received an offer to design football fields. A lucrative offer and the end of a bad streak.
Also, before another job offer, I dreamed that my brother gave me gold earrings with diamonds, and I put them on.
We were in a very expensively furnished apartment, on a high floor in Moscow City. In the room hung a big beautiful chandelier, there were panoramic windows and a beautiful view of the city. A job offer that was favorable to me came from my brother, who lives in Moscow.
This dream shows how the sun symbolizes the beginning of a new period. The football field – a future project. The gold earrings – a lucrative offer. The dream came true two months later.
The full interpretation of this symbol, with all the nuances and details, is available in our app. There, too, are hundreds of real dreams in which the sun manifested in people’s lives.

Good day, Victoria! Today I had a dream on the 2nd night of Meetings and Flamingos (about Love:)
“I’m walking down the street – it’s warm, summer. Someone calls out to me. I turn around and see an acquaintance of mine (in real life this person doesn’t inspire trust, possibly has feelings for me), walking away in his usual fast pace in the opposite direction. He says something, pointing at the sky – like something’s wrong up there. I look up and see a bright sun in a clear blue sky. A thought flashes: ‘Strange, it should be evening by now, but the sun is high and in the wrong place – indicating it’s around noon.’ I look toward the setting sun (but for some reason I’m looking at the real rising east – I realized this only after waking up), at a green mountain, I can’t make out the sun because in that spot there’s also a very bright spot, doesn’t look like a sunset, though by position it’s very low-close, almost on the horizon line (and actually, only by evening did it dawn on me that the solar brightness in the dream was not behind the mountain, but ahead – on the mountain!) I shout to him in surprise: ‘Are there two suns or what?!’ He silently shrugs, like ‘You know better.’
Then I find myself in some room. There are people there, all very hungry, and they’re preparing for some competition, and the prize is food. I’m standing by the wall, and to my right stands a hungry and thin man, seems like someone I know from the dream. He can barely stand from weakness, swaying, holding onto me (so by my right arm?). I feel that I’m starting to be pulled down along with him. I say to him: ‘Stand on the left side and hold on.’ He moved, I feel fine, steady – not swaying. I look around, trying to understand what’s happening here, who drove these people to such an extremely hungry state? I woke up. And in some other episode there were my sister and former friend, by age – younger teenagers. I don’t remember the plot with them itself.”
Victoria, I’m a bit confused.. does the interpretation of “sun at its zenith” fit this dream? i.e., does the local zenith of the sun fit as the highest point in the sky? or only when the sun is exactly overhead? And this hungry one because of thinness is probably problems and worries?
Let’s start, perhaps, with the fact that there were 2 suns – this is an indication of two admirers, two men who will soon appear on the horizon. Figuratively speaking. Most likely, the time period is the same as in the dream. Recall by the weather and feelings. All the positions of the sun (I understand they changed over the course of the dream) are additional indications of the “position” of the suitors. The zenith here is one of many symbols – additional to the fact that you will be liked by men, attract attention. You will “enter” a phase of blossoming, when there will be special interest in you. A peak like that (of activity:))
I don’t really like the acquaintance from the past, he is here as a prototype. Apparently, there will be some similarity. Or similar circumstances of meeting.
A hungry and thin man – also an aspect of one of the suitors. Understand it as the symbolism of hungry and thin. There will be the same characteristics.
The setting sun in the East – this is a symbiosis of symbols – the end of one romance and the beginning of another. In such cases, one should focus on one’s feeling of the view and additional characteristics. A “pure” sunset as well as a sunrise – is a “normal” ending of some period, relationship. A sunrise – a beginning.
Victoria, thank you!) I’ll move the dream to the Blogs, and if I manage to track down those fans, I’ll post about it there.)
