Running away in a dream means the desire or ability to leave some relationship or situation quickly enough. Running away from danger or pursuit means fear, fright and anxiety in a certain life situation that has gotten out of control and, as you feel, does not depend on you.

Pursuit in dreams is always connected with the real feeling that you cannot hide anywhere from a problem that causes fear and apprehension for your life, well-being or health. People see such dreams at times when they experience tension and pressure related to the fear of realizing their own potential. The book “Prophetic Dreams and Lucid Dreaming” will help you understand the logic of dreams more deeply.
What different plots with running away mean
Running away from danger means fear and anxiety in a situation that has gotten out of control. Running away from an animal means the inability to take a behavioral impulse under control. Running away from a person or a group of people means avoiding responsibility. Running away from an ex means fear of disappointments in love. Running away from a snake means the inability to cope with your own fears. Running away from a wave means avoiding dangerous or frightening situations. Running away from a bear means a conflict with a strong opponent.
A dream that came true: running away from the boss
A participant shared a dream. Dark, a street. She is standing. On the right, next to her, stands a real accountant from work. And from left to right their real boss runs. He stopped near her, looked her in the eyes. Then he turned around and ran on. She saw only his back in the distance. The accountant remained standing next to her.
The dream came true a few months later. The boss quit, went to a promotion at another organization. Before quitting, he hinted that he might take her with him. The accountant very much hoped and waited for him to call her. But he never called any of them. The dream was three years ago, the participant remembered and decided to write.
A dream that came true: running away from a bear
A participant shared a dream. She was running in fear from a huge bear, which from afar walked in her direction on two legs. The dream was of the kind scarier and more vivid than the eventual realization.
In reality she had to turn to the structures where this prototype works – the bear. She had had rather unpleasant run-ins with him in the past, and she tried not to encounter him, she really did not want to see him to the point of nausea. She was afraid that there might be irrational behavior. But he found out about her visit and came into the meeting room supposedly to pour some water from the cooler. They exchanged looks, and that was where the realization ended. Inside her, of course, everything was boiling.
A dream that came true: running away from rapists
A participant shared a dream where men wanted to rape her, and she ran away from them.
Realization: at her old job there was a lot of work and overtime, but no one paid extra for it. On weekends the office people often called about various matters, colleagues and even clients at nighttime. The work itself got very boring to her very quickly.
A dream that came true: running away from evil spirits
A participant shared a dream. She is sitting in a castle in a bedroom at a little table with her mom. She wants to play cards with pictures. In the room a door opens and a cat comes in. She gets up, walks over to the cat, and then some unclean force pins her to one spot, she can’t move. She screams: “Mom, mom, mom!” At some point it lets her go. She goes up to her mom and asks whether she heard her scream. Mom says: “No, only once.” The devilry continues. She realizes that she can’t stay there anymore. She takes her mom, finds the exit from the castle, and they leave.
Realization: at her home in the kitchen there’s a problem with the electrical wiring, everything gives electric shocks. She told her brother and called an electrician. She’s sitting at home at the computer, drawing. Everything is great, like in the dream. Suddenly her brother calls and says they’re coming over to look at the electrical wiring. Like in the dream, unexpectedly the door opens and a cat comes in. She becomes uncomfortable doing her own things, she sits as if tied to one spot and waits. They tried every method, but didn’t find a solution, they went home to think. The devilry — that was the problem with the electrical wiring. The fact that she couldn’t move — she was paralyzed, she couldn’t do anything because there were people in the apartment. Mom said that a few days ago she also started getting electric shocks. The fact that they ran away from the castle — that is still ahead.
What to do if you dreamed that you were running away
If you dreamed that you were running away, ask yourself: what am I running away from in reality? What am I trying to avoid? Who or what frightens me?
If you are running away from an animal — it is your fear of someone’s character. If from a person — you are escaping responsibility. If from a monster — you are afraid of your own abilities.
