Wind in a dream always symbolizes change. And as a rule, these changes will relate to events from outside. That is, they are certain changes that will come to you or to the character of the dream from society, from the world. In such dreams, important additional symbols are: the room, the location, the strength and sensations of the wind, and the consequences.
If you want to check your symbols, go to the dream interpretation app. There, thousands of real examples from our project are collected.
If the wind is strong, the dream means alarming events that will happen quickly (the speed of the wind indicates this) and will cause considerable changes. Or even fundamental changes, a transformation. A weak, or simply pleasant gentle wind, a breeze, which you liked in terms of sensations, means changes for the better. The book “Prophetic Dreams and Lucid Dreaming” will help you understand the logic of dreams more deeply.
Wind is one of the most ancient symbols in human culture. It has always been associated with change, with movement, with that which cannot be stopped or controlled. Wind does not submit to man. It comes and goes, leaving behind either destruction or renewal. Therefore, in a dream it often indicates that events will occur regardless of your will. You will not be able to stop them. You can only accept them and adapt.
What different plots with wind mean
Strong wind – foretells troubling events, rapid changes. The stronger the wind, the more abrupt and unexpected the changes in your life will be. Such a dream often warns that you need to be prepared for external influences that could throw you off balance.
Pleasant wind – foretells changes for the better. If in the dream you felt pleasure from the breeze, it means that the upcoming changes will bring you joy and relief. It could be a new stage in life that turns out to be more comfortable than the previous one.
Warm wind – foretells joyful feelings. Warmth is better than cold. Such a dream says that the changes will be associated with pleasant emotions, perhaps with love, friendship or recognition.
Cold wind – foretells loneliness, fear, worries. Cold wind can sober you up, make you think rationally and stay collected. But more often it indicates that the changes will be difficult and you will feel uncomfortable.
Wind in the window – foretells news that will affect you. If the wind blows into an open window or door, it means that changes will invade your life from outside. You will not be able to shield yourself from them.
Wind carries away – foretells a series of changes that will sweep you up. If the wind lifts you or carries you away, it means that events will develop rapidly, and you will find yourself at their center, even if you are not ready for it.
Howling of the wind – foretells trials, anxiety, a warning about possible tragic events. Such a dream should be taken seriously. Perhaps a difficult period awaits you.
A dream that came true: strong wind and a child
A participant shared a dream a month before her pregnancy. She is standing outside, holding her younger child in her arms. But this is not her younger daughter in reality. A strong wind begins, and before her eyes it tears away half of a five-story building. In the dream, she barely managed to hold onto the child. A month later she became pregnant. Throughout the pregnancy there was a threat of miscarriage, but she held onto the child and gave birth safely. This drastically changed her life, because she gave birth at 42. The wind in this dream symbolized the threat that hung over her future child. She was able to withstand it, to hold onto him — and in reality she coped.
A dream that came true: hurricane wind and a business takeover
The participant had the dream in July 2016, two months before the events. She is in Cambridge, walking with an unfamiliar man. Everything is beautiful. Then they end up in an industrial zone in Moscow. Ahead there is a fence. Suddenly a squall of wind hits. The first squall died down. The second is stronger, knocking her off her feet. The third is so powerful that the man falls to the ground, and she barely stayed standing. She drags the man into an entranceway; he is unconscious.
What happened in reality: she studied ballet in a beautiful studio on Tverskoy Boulevard. A month later, businessmen took over the studio. The teacher was humiliatingly pushed out the door. The students entered negotiations three times, but nothing worked. Three gusts of hurricane wind — three attempts at negotiation. The man fell to the ground and lost consciousness — the teacher lost the business. A month later they found a new studio and continued their classes. The wind here showed that the changes would be abrupt and painful, but not fatal.
A dream that came true: sharp wind through the window and news
A participant had a dream on the full moon. She is at a country house, early morning. She looks out the open window, and a strong hot wind suddenly blasts her. In the distance she sees a residential high-rise in a black cloud, like thick smoke. She understands that a storm is coming from there, and begins closing the windows and the door. She locked the door with three turns to the left. She closed all the windows. While closing the east window, she saw the sunrise: “Everything will be fine, help will come from there.”
Realization: three hours after the dream she read the news about the public suicide of a well-known local journalist. The sharp wind through the window — unexpected news, emotions from the news. The high-rise from the dream — news from the city, shrouded in smoke. It didn’t seem to affect me personally, but it caused a big resonance and touched my soul. The sunrise — hope that the situation will improve. The wind here pointed to unexpected news that shocked society.
What to do if you dream of wind
If you dream of wind, pay attention to its strength and your sensations. Strong — for rapid changes. Pleasant — for good changes. If the wind blows into a window — expect news. If it carries you away — events will sweep you up.
Analyze where the wind blows from. If from the west — changes may come from afar. If from the east — something new, unexpected. If the wind raises dust or trash — there will be a lot of fuss and chaos in the changes. If the wind knocks you off your feet — the changes will be hard, but you will be able to get through them.
