What a fence and enclosure mean in a dream: dream interpretation and stories that came true

A fence in a dream is the boundary of some territory. If you dreamed of a fence or an enclosure, the dream points to personal space, protection, or a barrier.

A database gathered over years of the project’s work helps make sense of the details. In our app there are more than 7,000 symbols that are not available publicly. The website has only a fragment. It also contains stories from participants whose dreams came true in reality.

What a fence means in a dream: the main meaning

A fence is the boundary of some territory in a dream, and this territory may represent the personal space of an individual, a family, a group of people, or a community. In any case, a fence denotes a “prohibition” on the territory in some sense.

Taking into account the plot of the dream and additional dream symbols, a fence may indicate protection or a barrier. This depends on whether the fence is yours or is directed against you.

You can check all the details of the dream in the app. There are more than 7,000 symbols, and each is determined based on analytics of thousands of the project’s dreams that came true. The website does not have such a database.

A broken, fallen fence and lack of protection

To break a fence means to violate such a boundary, cross the line of what is permitted, or overcome the impossible (the forbidden).

If in your dream the fence fell by itself, tilted, collapsed, broke, or burned, the dream points to a lack of protection, weakness of position, defenselessness.

The expanded meaning of this symbol, with all the details, can be found in our app. It contains the complete dream book database of the project – more than 7,000 symbols that are not available in the public domain. We even have dreams that are not in any dream book, because these are not invented symbols, but real ones that came true.

Being on a fence and jumping off a fence

Being on a fence – having the opportunity to be in two territories at once, despite the fact that in reality, for some reason, there is no permitted passage between them (see the context of the dream). Know that you will not be able to “sit on the fence” for long (in real life). Such a situation is fraught with consequences.

Jumping off a fence – making a choice, deciding on your further actions, resolving something for yourself.

A tall fence, a new fence, and a wooden fence

A very tall fence – an almost insurmountable prohibition or obstacle, a restriction.

If in your dream the fence is not an obstacle, then a beautiful, tall, sturdy fence means that you have reliable protection and no one will be able to harm you. In that case, at the time of the dream, circumstances in the dreamer’s life will unfold in such a way that he will indeed feel a threat to his safety, but no trouble threatens him. The sturdier the fence (stone, iron) in that case, the better.

A dream in which such a fence is an obstacle for you means real insurmountable obstacles to further actions and intentions in life. From the plot of the dream, you will be able to understand what this obstacle relates to.

A new fence is a symbol of reliable protection and patronage that have appeared quite recently. The same is signified by a dream in which you see yourself building, making, or erecting a fence.

A wooden fence almost always points to the protection of home and family.

A wire fence, painting a fence, and a stolen fence

A wire fence is a symbol of restrictions associated with danger.

Painting a fence in a dream generally signifies a change in the current situation. But everything depends on what color the fence is painted. Refer to the symbols of color. The more pleasant and vivid the colors, the better.

If a fence was stolen in a dream (that happens in dreams too), the dream means that soon you may be robbed, someone may enter your territory in the literal or figurative sense. And you will be defenseless before circumstances.

Climbing over or jumping over a fence is a good symbol, a sign of overcoming difficulties.

See separately the symbols: “fence”, “railing”.

What a fence and an enclosure mean in a dream

A fence in a dream is the boundary of certain states; sometimes it points to the division of periods of life. Likewise, a fence or an enclosure symbolically shows the “definition” of someone’s personal territory, or the territory of a certain community, formation, subject, or object.

If you dreamed of an enclosure or a fence, the dream speaks of boundaries and separation. This may concern periods of life, personal territory, or relationships.

In a dream, you may see in one place several different fragments of a human life, the past, periods of existence. They could have been at different times, symbolize different people, but according to certain similar criteria in the dream, reflect something common. And yet, be separated from each other by a fence, since they “do not combine” entirely.

The fence and symbols of the past

Most often such a symbol is seen in dreams where symbols of the past are present: graves, cemeteries. This means oblivion of the past, a line “before” and “after” the event that the burial place symbolizes, the impossibility of returning to what was.

A fence and an enclosure in a dream: what to do after waking up

Did you dream of a fence or an enclosure? Here is what you should do right after waking up.

Write down the dream while you remember the details. What was the fence like? Tall, low, new, broken? What was the enclosure like?

Remember what you were doing. Building a fence, climbing over, jumping down, painting?

Look at whether the fence was intact. If yes, you have reliable protection. If broken, vulnerability is possible.

Pay attention to whether the fence was low or high. Low – toward overcoming boundaries. High – toward obstacles.

You can check the full interpretation in the app. The algorithm takes into account all the details of the dream and shows a complete picture. There are also more than 7000 symbols there that cannot be found on the site.

And if you want not just to read about dreams, but to induce them, the app has practices and affirmations. They help you receive prophetic dreams and answers to important questions.

Conclusion

A fence and an enclosure in a dream are symbols of boundaries and protection. They point to personal space, periods of life, or obstacles.

If the fence is intact, you have reliable protection. If it is broken, vulnerability is possible. If you climbed over the fence, you will overcome difficulties.

For an accurate understanding, you need a database with verified meanings. It was compiled over years, and every symbol in it is confirmed by real dreams that came true. All of this is available in our app. It has more than 7,000 symbols and practices for prophetic dreams. The website contains only a small part of the dream dictionary.
