Seeing a toad or frog in a dream means that in real life you will have to deal with a person who is vile and unpleasant in every way. But besides that, you can expect deceit, selfish actions, and betrayal from him.
If you dreamed of a toad in the house, it means this person has access to your home and family. Beware of him! You may not only be fooled or deceived, but also humiliated by having a bad reputation spread about you. Especially if the toad bit you.
A big toad or frog points to a person who is corpulent and physically large, with all the characteristics described earlier. A green toad means envy from a person who will try to do you harm.
Killing or catching a frog or toad in a dream means achieving success in your affairs and rising in status, though others will condemn you for it.
Many frogs mean gossip around you and people talking behind your back. Small frogs are gossips who will not harm you much; apart from unpleasant chatter, there is nothing to expect from them.
Why toads and frogs dream of deceit
A toad and a frog in dreams almost always point to a person who is unpleasant to you. But this is not just an unpleasant person. This is someone who can deceive you, betray you, or use you for his own interests.
The size of the toad indicates the person’s physical characteristics. A big toad is a large, corpulent person. A small one is thin or short. The color of the toad may indicate the nature of the negativity. A green one means envy.
If a toad enters your house in a dream, this person already has access to your life. He may be a relative, an acquaintance, or a colleague. Be careful with him.
A dream about a toad that came true and an accusation of theft
I dream that my son and I are driving in a passenger car at enormous speed. As if this car belongs to my son (something from the Soviet auto industry) and he is behind the wheel. He drives terribly: gets distracted from the road by the cassette player, swerves all over the road. I sit next to him, silent, and only when I see people on the road do I tell my son to turn the wheel right or left. That way, we avoid danger. I myself am in shock and horror at the thought “If he had hit people – that would have been a catastrophe.”
We arrive at destination N (in life I went to school here), but in the dream we came there to fish. My son parks the car, we get out. We approach a body of water that looks more like a swamp with dirty water. My son takes out a fishing rod, casts it, and catches a huge toad. It has a wide-open human mouth with a bright red tongue. I say “Throw it off.” My son puts the toad on the ground and starts beating it with the words “How I hate these toads!” It slips off the hook and dives into its swamp.
Fulfillment
The dreamer told this dream to her son. He laughed, saying “Well, Mom, what dreams you have!” Nevertheless, she warned him that something bad (the toad – an enemy, the open mouth with the red tongue – she assumed nasty talk or accusations) would happen very, very quickly (driving the car at enormous speed).
She didn’t have to wait long. Already at 4 p.m. that same day he called in shock. Her son studies in another city and lives in an apartment with a landlady. And this landlady suddenly accused him of stealing money, even though he is not her only tenant, and demanded he vacate the bed-space. She did not ask for the money back. To her son’s suggestions to call the police and actually sort out where the money had gone (the hook), she responded with absurd excuses and a refusal to investigate – “You stole it, that’s all.” There’s your toad – a woman with an open mouth and a red tongue.
That same day he moved out of the apartment. And then, but in a completely different tone, he said, “Well, Mom, what kind of dreams you have!” She didn’t even think of accusing him of stealing the money, because she is certain of his honesty. She is also certain of something else: if he were guilty, the dream would have been completely different.
Interpretation of this dream
A car at enormous speed — events will unfold rapidly. The son is at the wheel, but he drives terribly — he is not in control of the situation. The woman participant prompts him where to turn — she is trying to warn him. A swamp with dirty water — an unpleasant situation. A toad with a human mouth and a red tongue — a woman who will accuse and say nasty things (red tongue — evil words, accusations). The son hits the toad — he will cope with the situation, but it slips away (the toad dives into the swamp) — the woman will evade responsibility, without admitting her guilt.
A dream that came true about two toads and greedy friends
I’m lying in my bed, sleeping. I wake up from the feeling that someone is fidgeting at my feet. I open my eyes and see two toads. One is bigger, the other smaller. I throw them off with the blanket and look at them. I feel both disgusted and amused at the same time. Amused because they’re so creepy-looking. Their eyes are bulging and they just sit there.
Realization
The woman participant has 2 friends. At that time she considered them her friends. Literally a couple of days later, one friend asked her to return a dress she had given her, and the second one called right after and asked her to give back the eyeshadow she had given her. She was in shock.
Well, how can you give something as a gift and then ask for it back? These girls don’t know each other. She’s known one since school, and the other is a former colleague from work. She had never noticed greed as a quality in either of them. But in connection with these events, her eyes were opened.
They gave gifts, and afterward their inner toad choked them. She returned the gifts. She didn’t say a word, she behaved gracefully. And when she handed them back to them, it was funny. Because both looked at her with their foolishly shamefaced eyes. After that, communication shrank to a minimum. One of them is 180 cm tall, and the other is about 170 cm. That’s why in the dream the toads were one big one and one smaller one.
Interpretation of this dream
Two toads — two friends. They fidget at her feet — they are “underfoot,” getting in the way, causing trouble. The dreamer brushes them off with the blanket — she distances herself from them, removes them from her life. She finds it both disgusting and funny — the situation is absurd. A toad is a symbol of greed. The friends gave gifts and then asked for them back. The toad choked them — greed gave them no peace. The size of the toads corresponded to the friends’ height.
A dream about a frog and pink lilies
I am standing on the bank of a small pond overgrown with greenery and, with joyful surprise, I see pink flowers. A thought flashes: “Are those lotuses? But where would lotuses come from here? The water is too dirty… the petals are in a single row… exactly, those are lilies, pink lilies. What beauty!” I immediately wanted to pick one. But they are rather far from the bank, and I really don’t want to get into the water.
Although near the very bank you can see the depth of the water, that the water is quite clean and relatively transparent, slightly murky green. To the left I see another patch of algae. I look at the flowers — they quickly closed and opened again several times.
And not synchronously, but alternately. Strange. I recall that they close up from the rain and for the night. But right now it’s daytime, it’s light, there’s no rain, although a light breeze is wandering over the surface of the pond — maybe they sense the approach of rain in advance?
A thought comes to use the help of the wind, so that it would drive the flower closer to me. I begin to concentrate on the wind and the flower. But another thought follows — how long is the flower’s stem, what if its length isn’t enough to reach the shore? And on top of that I recall that the stem is thick and sturdy — will I be able to pick the flower? I don’t have a knife with me.
And then suddenly I see a frog (toad) swimming in the water — a rather large (see 40-50) chunky fellow, greenish. It swims from right to left with a measured crawl, just like a businesslike, athletic man.
It doesn’t look at me. In the water, it seems another similar one flashed by. I cut myself off before I could finish thinking “Frog or toad? What’s the difference!”, and I gave an inward shudder. But overall I was calm and collected.
I hurried to leave and moved along the shore to the left, easily climbing further up a small hill, beyond which was a paved road — I need to go right, toward my city. And the frog climbed out of the water and was heading behind me to the left, in the other direction. It flashed through my mind, “Well, good thing I managed to part ways and miss him.” I didn’t even remember the flower.
Realization
In real life, a few days ago a man appeared on the internet who immediately gave off a strange, murky friskiness. The strangeness is also that usually such types silently walk past, which of course suits her just fine. But this one lingered. She immediately wondered: “Why and for what purpose?” And then there’s this dream.
Interpretation of this dream
Pink lilies are beautiful but unattainable. She wants to pick them but cannot. This is her desire, which is so far unattainable. The frog (toad) is an unpleasant person who will appear in her life. It swims measuredly, businesslike – it will be persistent. She leaves, and it stays behind – she will be able to avoid contact. The water is clear but murky green – the situation is not entirely clean, there is something suspicious.
What to do if you dream of a toad or a frog
If you dream of a toad or a frog, write down the dream. Pay attention to the details. Where was it? In the house or outside? Big or small? What were you doing with it?
If the toad was in the house – beware of people who have access to your family. If you killed it – you will cope with the problem. If it bit you – you may be humiliated or deceived.
