1 Where did the fashion for Low-Fat products come from?2 Why Are Low-Fat Products Harmful? Why Low-Fat Products Are Harmful… For many, it will be a revelation to learn how and why Low-Fat Products are harmful. And if you still choose low-fat or reduced-fat yogurt, then I advise you to find out why this is a very bad idea not only for your health, but also for your figure.
I decided to write this post after I once again heard recommendations to consume Low-Fat or Reduced-Fat products.
It so happened that for a long time, and quite successfully, it was drilled into all of our heads that fat is not just bad, it is harmful; consuming it brings consequences in the form of excess weight and is one of the causes of deaths worldwide — cardiovascular diseases.
I will not hide it or say that I was different from most people; I also used to buy myself kefir or cottage cheese, automatically choosing the options with reduced fat content.
But after I began to follow a natural and wholesome lifestyle and diet, my opinion on this changed drastically. Now I avoid all products with the enticing label “fat-free” and buy only wholesome, “fatty” products as nature intended them.
And why I gave up this очередной another heavily advertised trick is what I want to tell you in this post! I hope that after this, you too will never again think that “fat-free” means good and healthy!
Where did the fashion for Low-Fat products come from?
This fashionable trend began in the 50s, when a scientist conducted a famous study and concluded that fat (especially saturated fat) was the cause of heart and vascular diseases. And hello vegetable oil instead of butter, and low-fat dairy products!
This study was completely unconfirmed, but it took more than 50 years for people to finally start changing their minds about fat and stop being afraid of it.
For many, when they see a “fat-free” label, it automatically clicks that it’s healthy! But few know that, first of all, it’s not only not healthy, but even harmful, simply because the final product is unnatural and doesn’t occur in nature.
Have you ever seen a cow give low-fat milk? Or conversely, a cow that fed on the right food for it gives very fatty, nutritious milk. I still remember homemade village sour cream, of an orange hue, in which a spoon stood upright. I have never tasted sour cream more delicious in my life. Can it even be compared with low-fat or fat-free store-bought?
Low-fat products often contain even more calories than their counterparts with fat. Because when you remove the fat, which gives the product its taste, it automatically needs to be replaced with something. And so sugar and all sorts of chemicals and preservatives come to the rescue. Are they better than natural, natural fat? Of course not.
And the very process of creating low-fat products? Do you think it’s natural? Did our ancestors indulge in low-fat yogurt or dry, powdered milk? Of course not, because the very process of obtaining it is unnatural.
First, milk is passed through very small holes under very high pressure. This causes the cholesterol in the milk to oxidize under the action of oxygen with the formation of not only toxic nitrates, but also Oxidized Oxygen, which is precisely what deposits on the walls of our arteries in the form of plaques and leads to their narrowing and to heart attack and stroke.
And simple dietary cholesterol is an antioxidant; it helps us fight bad Oxidized Cholesterol.
Well, and lastly, our body does not recognize the unknown, unnatural proteins of powdered milk, as a result of which the body triggers an immune response, leading not only to allergies, but also to autoimmune diseases and inflammation. Who would have thought, right? Just some product, and such a serious effect on our health!
Why Are Low-Fat Products Harmful?
When you were choosing Low-fat products, you thought you were doing a great favor for your health and figure. But now I will open your eyes to what actually hides behind these pretty words and why we NEED this fat.
- Low-fat products or products with reduced fat content contain chemicals that are added so that the final product even remotely tastes like its full-fledged version. These include salt (harmful white table salt, not the healthy sea or Himalayan salt), sugar or high-fructose syrup, GMO starch, monosodium glutamate, etc.).
- Do you buy Low-fat products in order to lose weight or not gain extra weight? In vain! Because it turns out that you are replacing fat (healthy) — with harmful sugar! And this is the most common cause of extra pounds. Maltodextrin, by the way, is starch, and this in turn is carbohydrates and sugar!
- These “freaks of nature” contain far more carbohydrates than fats, as a result — you don’t feel full, blood sugar spikes sharply, which leads to a craving for something sweet.
- Our body needs fat and especially Essential fatty acids, which our body is unable to synthesize and they must be obtained from food.
- Low-fat or reduced-fat products carry no nutritional value. Dairy products contain fat-soluble vitamins D, E, A and K. And if there is no fat, then there are no vitamins either. Often producers of incomplete milk add synthetic vitamins. For example, Vitamin D-2, instead of natural Vitamin D-3, is not absorbed by our body, and the other vitamins are also not absorbed, because they are FAT-SOLUBLE, and there is no fat!Your discount
- Fat is essential for protein utilization, which is why in nature protein is always found together with fat (eggs, milk, fish, meat). Too much protein without fat leads to very rapid elimination of Vitamins A and D from the body, leading to their deficiency.
- Fat is necessary in order to lose weight! It sends a signal to the brain about satiety, since it is digested slowly, providing our body with slowly processed energy.
- The gallbladder accumulates bile in order to digest fat. As soon as we eat something fatty, it automatically triggers the release of bile. If we do not get enough fat, bile remains in the gallbladder without work, it becomes thick and viscous, and over time it becomes increasingly difficult for the gallbladder to release it. And then, if we eat fat, the gallbladder is unable to squeeze out such thick bile, and fat cannot be digested properly without bile. A process of intoxication begins, since the bile just sits in the gallbladder, poisoning our body from within. By the way, in the case of the gallbladder, one simple rule applies — use it or lose it. Viscous bile leads to the formation of stones in the gallbladder. And how many people today have gallstones? Very many! And the number of people without a gallbladder itself is still growing.
- Fat contains dietary Cholesterol, which is an antioxidant, and not the cause of heart attacks (it is oxidized Cholesterol, which is produced when you consume Trans fats or vegetable oils) and protects us from chronic inflammation and many diseases.
- Our hormones need fat. It is the so-called building block for sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone). Low-fat products are a direct road to hormonal imbalance.
- Fats are needed for natural cleansing and detoxification. The liver accumulates toxins from our entire body and then sends them into bile, which cannot leave our body because there are no fats needed to release it.
I am very frightened by this “just say no to fat” trend.
Even in American schools, the lunch for children is skim or 1% milk. It turns out that already from childhood we are undermining the health of our children.
America, by the way, in case you don’t know, is the #2 country in the world by the number of people suffering from obesity. Another proof that low-fat products don’t work the way many people think.
So don’t be afraid and eat only foods at their natural fat content. As you have already understood, this will be not only good for health, but also for your figure! And also—it’s much tastier!
