Don't believe words...

Don't believe words...

A dream in which a wedding ring fell apart: a story that came true

Don’t believe the words…

  • Why are you so sure that he sincerely loves you? – my aunt snapped sarcastically, but I didn’t want to answer her in the same tone. I couldn’t utter a word in response.

If only I had known…

But what kind of “if only”? Even in the most bizarre dreams one could not imagine what soon became known.

I am twenty-one, and I am married. My husband seemed to have raised me himself. We met when I was only fourteen years old. He didn’t give me freedom, he watched over me, he brought me up; if he went away, his friends and relatives took turns keeping an eye on me.

He spoiled me with gifts and literally carried me in his arms. When he came to me and we were left alone, his knees buckled with excitement. Maybe just to lay his head on my knees – and that’s it… His gaze is mad, his breathing quickens. And that phrase of his: “just don’t leave me,” which he drilled into me so hard that it became the heaviest burden for me.

If only I had known…

It was as if I woke up from a stupor. My aunt was asking? Ah yes! How do I know about his love?

  • He kisses my toes every evening, – I said barely audibly.

  • Not surprising.

There’s a noise in my ears, a white haze before my eyes. It seems as if a cap has been placed on me. People are scurrying around – rejoicing or worrying; living their lives… And me? I hung suspended in flight and everything shattered into pieces before me. I can’t even tell – am I alive, or is everything happening without me?

In the first hours after our conversation, it seemed to me that I had made a mistake or that he was just joking. Maybe it was some kind of joke? But no, it wasn’t a joke. Now I live with my parents; the house that we considered ours is no longer mine.

What feelings are the strangest? It was so unexpected! I’m confused – where did all this come from? That day began as usual and went on without any particular events until that evening after work. He greeted me as always: smiled and kissed me, and suggested we talk.

  • Maybe we should have dinner first?

  • No, let’s talk.

I remember his every phrase, every word. Apparently all of this is deeply imprinted in me… Of course, he feels terrible for lying to me and can’t and won’t continue that way anymore. We must break up.

It was so unpredictable! We didn’t quarrel or argue. On the contrary – he showered me with tender words every day until it became irritating. He literally showered me with kisses, always gave me a ride home in his car and praised me in front of other people. He gave me gifts and flowers.

And when I was leaving the house that evening, he said:

  • I wish you would at least hit me! It would be easier for me…

Of course, don’t mention it! I’m always glad to help you ease your feelings. Well, all right, that’s my concern now. But how did it happen that I didn’t notice anything? Didn’t sense it?

So I was lying on the bed in my room at my parents’ place, facing the wall, and the only thing I felt was pain inside. My gaze accidentally fell on a beautiful icon of the Mother of God without a frame; nearby were scattered fragments of wood. This was definitely some kind of sign! Mom told me that the day before the icon had fallen and the frame had been damaged. Or maybe something else happened too?

Yes… There is one dream that I cannot get out of my head. Some kind of confusion overcame me after his marriage proposal – the wedding preparations began! I was ready to believe in any signs just to get an answer to my question. I asked my late grandfather to show me: should I marry THIS man? And then I had this dream:

The hall of the venue is festive with lots of round tables – no long one for the newlyweds, but all of them small with snow-white tablecloths and completely empty. No food or drinks on the tables… All the guests can be counted on the fingers of one hand; there is almost no one among close ones or friends. And I – in a white bride’s dress. Some very stout man comes up to me: he breathes heavily and grunts like a piglet…

With difficulty we made it to the middle of the hall and began to perform the wedding waltz. Step by step… My betrothed, unable to withstand his weight, loses his balance and begins to fall, pulling me along with him. Our fall was not a simple one – he toppled onto one of the guests and the table, crushing both.

In my dreams this fall seemed unbearably painful and frightening… The same feeling comes over me now as I lie and look at the frameless icon of the Mother of God, and SHE gazes at me.

Have you ever noticed that regardless of your position before icons, the gaze of THEIR faces always follows you?

Part 2

Wave after wave rolled in… I couldn’t take my eyes off the strips of sand, where the pattern kept changing all the time. There is not a single repetition. Thousands of waves and thousands of new patterns. The water beckoned. The sea was clear and transparent. I walked into the water and dove in.

Submerging… and everything is like in slow motion. I sink deeper and deeper, the water thickens, darkens, and looking through it at the sun becomes easy. The deeper I go, the more I realize the need to see the sun. If I lose sight of it, pitch darkness will swallow me.

That’s it! Stop! I’m scared and cold, I want to go up! It’s hard for me.

I raise my hand up to start rowing, to push off, and I see my wedding ring. It slowly slides off my finger, hangs in front of me in the water, and bursts. The ring falls apart into two halves and sinks piece by piece into the depths. Into this chilling, pitch-black abyss…

I woke up.

It was three in the morning. January. I’m so tired of the cold and darkness. And this wind forever howling outside the window. Beside me, my husband is snoring. Here we are, the two of us at home, and it seems to me that I am alone. “In reality” alone. He is neither a friend to me nor a close person. I’ve known him for so many years, and he is a stranger to me. And there is nothing in common between us: no interests, no friends, no hobbies – nothing.

Why am I with him? Because he wanted it that way. And why did I agree? I felt sorry for him.

Pity is not love.

The ring burst in the dream. What does that mean? Should I leave him? Is something going to happen to my husband?

Dream. Dream. I remember you!

It was only a day before our separation. And what am I surprised about?

Our subconscious mind is designed in such a way that it spares us. After all, I understood then, at three in the morning, what that means. I just didn’t want to believe it. Women are fools! I’m talking about myself now. Why? After all, I couldn’t stand him, couldn’t bear his smell, was afraid to get married, and never once even imagined our future life together. Why did I go to that ZAGS? When you say the word “ZAGS,” do you remember what it means? Besides, of course, Mendelssohn’s waltz and the envious glances of your friends. Attention! ZAGS is the REGISTRATION OF AN ACT OF CIVIL STATUS.

Once again: AN ACT OF CIVIL STATUS.

And most often it is an ACT OF NON-STATUS.

Marriages are made in heaven. I so like that expression. It smells of heaven.

How many times my subconscious tried to stop me. And I fell for the bait: get married! Get married!

Girls! When will we learn to love ourselves more than them?!

Being a woman is a magical state! Just our mystical, magical intuition alone is worth something!

Part 3

Being a woman is a magical state!

Why am I so upset? Let’s go back to the past.

Since all the events happened by themselves, so to speak, by the will of heaven, it wouldn’t be bad to look at:

  • And what was I myself DOING AT THAT TIME?

Does that sound strange? Nothing of the sort.

Didn’t want to date him? I dated him, I felt sorry for him, after all, he begged so much: “Don’t leave me! Just don’t leave me!” And my age was the very, very age when one can and should meet people, date, fall in love, break up…

Here comes the student autumn – party as much as you can handle! Groups of friends, buddies, guys from parallel courses asking you out one after another, and I’m like the biggest fool: “I can’t, I’m waiting for my boyfriend.” How I regret now that THAT time has passed!

Winter. Snow crunching underfoot, the whole course group in the park, then in a crowd out of town skiing: lard, campfire, wine warming the blood! Ah-h-h! I want to go back there! That’s where our youth was, and such openness to life and such belief in everything good!

And spring! Oh Lord! How everything around makes your head spin! And we – so fresh, young, beautiful! We fly up the university staircases – not looking where we step. Only forward! And you catch glances on yourself, and you feel the breathing: of spring, and your own, and that of the guy who can’t take his eyes off you.

Summer has come? Even exams couldn’t ruin it, no matter how hard they were. Park, beach, the south, the dance floor. Long legs, short skirts, bodies heated in dance… First everyone left, then came back together. Got tired of someone over the year – forgot them, there were grudges – forgave them!

And hello, next year! Everything starts all over again. Life goes on, life flies! Everything you grab – it’s all yours.

And did I see all this? Yes, from the sidelines – from my little birdcage. Do I regret it? Of course! More than you can imagine.

And why do I regret it? Because it was someone else’s will. Not mine.

I confirm the THEORY OF SIGNS OF EVENTS. Through my own story. That’s actually why it’s been told.

The THEORY OF SIGNS OF EVENTS is as follows:

Every state of a relationship is contained in the circumstances of its beginning. Let me explain simply.

ATTENTION! The nature of the relationship is symbolically embedded in the circumstances of the moment you met. This works not only in cases of partners’ relationships.

In my case, we met like this: a train, groups of schoolchildren traveling to Krasnodar Krai. Already at the station I notice a guy who keeps glancing in my direction and nervously rearranging his bags. I stood silently and didn’t talk to my mom—the resentment toward her was unreal. The previous two days I had cried so much that my head still hurts.

I didn’t want to go to that camp. There was such an inexplicable anxiety! And I had no arguments except: “I’m scared. I don’t want to go”—none at all. She didn’t give in, she sent me anyway. Six years later I cried exactly the same way at the wedding. When the music started playing at the registry office, I could no longer do anything about it.

On the train he came up and introduced himself. From the very first minutes I had an aversion to him. You just don’t like a person—and that’s it. His manners, his movements, his smell, everything! He asks a question, you start to answer—he gets furious. Why—I don’t understand. And he can’t hide it. He’ll jump out of the compartment—he’ll laugh with some girl, and in a way that I would see it, then he’ll calm down—and come back.

Time passed, and he himself told me about our conversations on the train: if there was something in me that he “couldn’t measure up to” in his understanding, he hated me so much that he was ready to destroy me. By any means available to him: humiliate, offend, betray—the main thing was to feel like the master of the situation. After two weeks at the camp I was so worn out by him that I dreamed of setting foot on my native land! I returned and broke off all relations with him.

What started then! Stones came flying at me from who knows where. Real bullying began. I was called names, insulted, and one especially zealous friend of his even spat.

As you can already guess, our whole story then repeated itself not in miniature. BUT! It DID repeat in MINIATURE. The scenario of our meeting became the scenario of our life with deception, betrayal, and separation.

Now, knowing this mysterious THEORY OF SIGNS OF EVENTS, I listen with bated breath to every word of a person when meeting for the first time and recall, and reproduce in my memory all the details and circumstances of the acquaintance.

The space of events of the matrix of our lives contains KEYS.

They are universal. That is, the principle of their operation is one and the same.

If this principle is understood, our own life will become much closer and clearer to us.

Part 4

The May morning sun fell on the tenderly green leaves of the poplars. Because of this they grew larger and seemed like a three-dimensional, unreal hologram. Now the nightingale’s mate from the neighboring tree will join him, and from this nightingale’s song my head will spin altogether!

It is still about fifteen minutes to walk to the REGISTRY OFFICE. I will have to put on a sad face, because my appearance will be abnormal. After all, I am going to get a divorce.

Just a week ago I could not imagine that I could perceive what had happened to me this way.

I am getting divorced. The man who swore love to me until the grave betrayed me. When my friends found out about my divorce, of course, they sympathized. But. You cannot hide your eyes, after all. They were increasingly preoccupied with not revealing their true emotions. Only one could not hold back. First she started laughing, then apologizing. She looked foolish, of course…

The fact that I am now, to my girlfriends, deceived and abandoned, in principle means nothing for life. They’ll talk and forget. But the fact that I’m a “divorcee” just wouldn’t fit in my head. And I couldn’t attach it to myself with any threads.

And also, my fidelity and devotion stood like a lump in my throat. Who needed them? He, it turns out, wasn’t above group sex either. The poor guy couldn’t “get it up.”

It’s good that I had the opportunity to feel sorry for myself and cry to my heart’s content. And my family supported me. And when, finally, the limit of my tears was exhausted, and I saw how the moon looked at me through the window and how the awakened Earth “breathed” through the open window, I thought that more than six billion people live on our planet right now and it’s unlikely that a person like my ex could eclipse the whole world.

Let’s consider that I had to serve a penance, and its term has come to an end.

What’s there to discuss when everything has already happened, how he was to blame and what a scoundrel he is. Many years will pass and my girlfriend and I, sitting in a bar, will discuss the details of her divorce. And recalling that I “started first,” she will ask in bewilderment:

  • I don’t understand how you could forgive him?

To which I answered her:

  • What’s there to understand? I forgave him in order to “let go.” And to live not in the past, but in the present and in the future. Not his life, but my own. If I had kept my hatred and anger inside me, I wouldn’t have been able to become free and move on. And I simply forgot about him. Let go and forgot.

But I want to go back to that May day when I was walking down the street, skipping like a teenage girl. Of course, my future worried me. And I really wanted to look into it…

And I dreamed my magical, fairytale and insanely beautiful dream, for which I am still grateful to this day.

Night. An island on the latitude of the equator. I am walking along the beach and feeling the soft golden sand. No one disturbs me, but I am not at all frightened by the fact that I am here alone at night. I stop to savor this moment. And I like everything: the warm breeze, the smell of the sea water, the sand under my feet, and my long light-colored dress…

Then I remember what happened to me. And that my heart already aches from the worry, and tears begin to choke me. I repeat my grievances to myself, and at that very moment I look at the line of the horizon. And such beauty begins to unfold before me, both in appearance and in the range of sensations, that I forget all my sorrows.

The water in the sea begins to reflect the light of the stars like a mirror and fills with such a feeling of energy that I am entirely filled with this beauty. It is even hard to convey in words. I stand as if spellbound, looking at all of it. And, suddenly, directly above me, high—high in the sky, a star begins to shine more brightly than the others. Now I see only it… And it flies toward me. I forget about everything and see nothing but it. In the end, it descends right into my hand, and I wake up with my palm clenched into a fist so tightly that marks from my nails remain.

From that moment, the past no longer existed for me. Only the future. I no longer discussed the topic of my divorce with anyone, did not complain and did not worry. I knew exactly what lay ahead. But that is a completely different story.

Interpretation of the symbols from this dream

A ring in a dream is a symbol of union, connection, obligations. A wedding ring is not just jewelry. It is a sign of marriage, a promise, fidelity. If in a dream the ring comes off by itself, slips off the finger, this indicates that the connection is weakening, obligations are losing their power. If the ring bursts, falls apart into pieces, it is the end of the union. The dream comes true.

Water and immersion in a dream are a withdrawal into the depths of yourself, into your feelings and experiences. The deeper you immerse yourself, the more information about yourself you receive. But if you lose the sun (light, hope, a reference point), fear and darkness consume you. In this dream, the participant immersed herself in her fears, but saw a sign, the ring fell apart. It was a warning.

A dream about a wedding with empty tables and a falling groom is a warning that the marriage will be empty and unstable. Empty tables are the absence of fulfillment in the relationship. The falling groom, he will not withstand it, he will collapse and pull you down with him.

The theory of signs of events that the participant describes is an important principle. The nature of a relationship is laid down at the moment of acquaintance. If you feel anxiety, dislike, fear at the first meeting, it is a sign. The subconscious already knows how it will all end. Do not ignore its signals.

What to do if you had a dream about a breakup

If you dreamed that a ring comes off, bursts, or is lost, it is a serious sign. Do not ignore it. Write down the dream, recall the details. What were the sensations? Fear, relief, anxiety?

If the dream was accompanied by negative emotions, perhaps your relationship is under threat. If you felt relief, perhaps you are subconsciously ready for changes.

Dreams about a breakup do not always mean a physical separation. Sometimes it is the end of an old stage of a relationship and the beginning of a new one. But if the dream was vivid, clear and recurring – take it seriously.
