The artifact deal: how Leshka searched for the girl in the light dress

The artifact deal: how Leshka searched for the girl in the light dress

Deal with the artifact: how Lyoshka was looking for a girl in a light dress

This part of the book tells about a search that cannot be explained by logic. The plot is based on the real story of a person who felt that somewhere out there was Her, but could not find her. This feeling, which cannot be put into words, became the starting point for an entire investigation. Later, based on these experiences, the author created a methodology for working with dreams and the subconscious.

Section 2. Chapter 1

— What’s with you?

— Wait, don’t bother me!

Shurik obediently stared at Alexey in the hope that he would finally explain why they had already been standing on the bow of the pleasure boat for more than fifteen minutes, and not only were not joining the general merriment, but could not even move a step away from the side.

And the company on the boat really was merry. The young people were celebrating the end of exams, and the nerves stretched to the limit over the past days had relaxed into complete recklessness. And what was one to do? One had to restore balance! There was a reason. There was an opportunity. Go! Live it up, youth! When would something like this happen again? Right, never!

Young blood, a sparkle in the eyes, and the whole future ahead! And among them there was not a single soul who did not believe that this future was wonderful! This energy of unrestrained fun flowed into anyone who happened to be nearby. And Shurik happened to be nearby. He shuffled his feet to the rhythm of the music and kept glancing toward the bar.

— Lyoshka! Let’s go! — Shurik whined again.

— You go.

— Well, what did you see there? Why have we been standing here so long? At least explain!

— See that girl over there?

— Where? — Shurik narrowed his eyes. — Are you out of your mind? Are your visions starting again?!

Alexei turned to Shurik and looked at him intently.

— I see! It’s you who’s starting to have visions! Don’t drink today, or the evening will end quickly.

— What does drinking have to do with it? We’re on a boat, water ahead, water on all sides. Eh… What a girl! Lyokha! You’re at it again!

— Oh, go away! Go on… dance!

Shurik exhaled loudly and covered his face with his hand.

— Fine! You daydream here, and I’ll go to the bar and back. Want me to bring you anything?

— No, thanks.

— That’s right! How long can you hang around here? — Shurik muttered to himself. — After all! I’ll go warm up with some more cognac and get acquainted with the girl in the red blouse. I saw how she looked at me.

He headed toward the bar for a fourth portion of that same cognac, so that the fourth time he would finally warm up, and he was no longer just muttering under his breath, but also thinking slowly. But he never forgot about the girl in the red blouse for a single minute.

Meanwhile, Alexei did not take his eyes off the second boat for a single minute. It was moving parallel, but slightly ahead of the “Aurora,” on which the whole student crowd had settled, joined by their friends Alexei and Shurik — casual fellow travelers, for whom it was merely another mischievous Friday, and neither of them wanted to go home to their bachelor dens.

On the port side deck of the excursion boat with the outdated but fairy-tale name “The Sorceress,” there indeed stood a completely charming girl. She, too, had withdrawn from the noisy feast taking place in the wardroom, and gazing intently at the water, was thinking about something of her own. Her long light-brown hair flew in the wind together with the milky silk of her dress. And the girl herself, without stirring even once, did not take her eyes off the water. Her thoughts were somewhere very, very far away.

“It really is her,” Alexei mused to himself. “Both the hair, and the height, and the figure. And the way she holds her head, as if she’s listening…”

And unexpectedly for himself, he yelled at the top of his lungs:

“Miss! Miss!”

But not only did the girl not hear him, neither did those present from the “Aurora.” The noise, the clamor, the music and laughter had long since grown into a roar that could only be drowned out by a sound more powerful than Lyoshka’s shout.

Soon the lights of the shore pier became visible, and Alexei rushed to the exit of the lower deck in order to catch up with the girl at least on the pier. The crowd, through which Alexei was making his way, squeezed him from all sides with its young bodies, heated from dancing. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Shurik embrace a long-legged girl from behind, and in time with her and the music, he literally merged into the dance with the whole crowd.

Lyoshka flew out onto the lower deck and positioned himself behind the boatswain at the exit.

“What, did you save your place in line?” croaked the boatswain through his nicotine-stained mustache and laughed hoarsely.

“What?”

“Well, no one except you is planning to get off. Maybe make another loop?”

“No, no,” Lyoshka protested. “Everyone wants to go out! They have a cafe reserved on the embankment,” he made up on the spot.

— Why are you so worried?! I was joking. You don’t want to admit that you got seasick. Heh-heh…

The boatswain turned away, and Lyoshka saw his broad back shake with laughter.

— Let him think whatever he wants about me. Just hurry up and dock.

The “Sorceress” had already docked, but the passengers weren’t getting off. Lyoshka understood that while everyone was getting off, while they’d be walking along the embankment—and it was large—he had time to catch up with the girl.

Finally, the fenders on the sides of the “Aurora” began to bump against the pier with light pushes, and, with the first attempt by the skilled and experienced hands of the boatswain, she was moored.

The first company, having broken away from the general merriment, was already leaning on Alexei’s shoulders, and when the gangway was thrown out, Alexei was squeezed onto the pier by that very company.

That would have been all fine, but at that very moment he heard a familiar voice:

— Lyokha! Buddy! Where are you going? And me? Take me with you… Us. Us with you.

It was Shurik. He was hanging on the shoulder of that same long-legged girl in the red blouse, trying to wave his hand expressively and continued yelling at Lyoshka at the top of his lungs. And the worst part was that by this time Shurik hadn’t even left the upper deck.

Lyoshka started rushing about. He dashed out onto the embankment to get a look at the people from the “Sorceress.” It was dusk, hundreds of streetlights had come on. Everything had changed: shapes, colors. Everything was mixed up. People from the boat and people from the embankment. He darted back to the “Aurora”‘s pier. Shurik was still dangling on the girl’s shoulder and hadn’t moved from his spot.

— Shurka! Get to the exit.

— I’m coming! I’m with you. We’re with you, — he pointed at his companion and started waving his hand again.

Alexey walked closer to the edge of the pier and shouted:

— Miss!

Shurik’s friend leaned down:

— Yes!?

“Thank God!” thought Lyoshka. “The girl, unlike Shurka, seems to be okay.”

— Miss, come down and wait for me. Okay?

— Alright! But he’s heavy.

— Hang in there, okay?

— Alright!

— Alright, then alright.

And Alexey again ran with all his might from the pier to the embankment.

A crowd had poured in. Groups, couples, how many of them there were!

— A light dress… A light dress? Where can I find one? Where can I find one?! — he muttered to himself.

Lyoshka ran and peered over someone’s shoulder, into someone’s face. His stranger wasn’t there. Suddenly, about a hundred meters ahead, what seemed to him to be that very light dress flickered. The girl was walking alone. A couple of steps and she sharply turned the corner.

He had to run, and run very fast. These ancient streets, cobbled, narrow, with many alleys, courtyards that lead to the most unexpected places, or even end in a dead end after a couple of meters, could easily deceive! Running around the corner, Lyoshka, just as a minute before, saw the light dress flickering ahead, disappearing behind the wall of a gloomy dark three-story house at the intersection.

Everything: the street, the houses, and the twilight creeping over the city — flew past, except for one thing. And that was the light dress.

Leshka was tearing along at breakneck speed. After making another turn, he saw, far ahead, a girl getting into a car and, abruptly peeling away, driving off.

“Like in a bad movie! Well… who… drives like that?!” he muttered, barely able to speak from his broken breathing. “What a day?”

Then the entire surrounding space swam past. First in one direction, then in the other. Either the lack of a reference point, namely the white dress, disoriented Alexey so much. Or the physical exertion had taken its toll. Only this whole picture stopped and hung before his eyes, and it was unclear how a smell surfaced from memory, one he had never felt before, and now he not only remembered it, but also that all of this had already happened to him before.

Both the embankment, and the girl, and this light dress, and this smell, which he was sensing for the first time, but which was so familiar, and connected him to someone or something very important in his life. He remembered all of it!

“Déjà vu. Wow! Now I know what it is too!” Leshka said, barely catching his breath.

Then he walked over to the wall of the building and, leaning his back against it, slid down into a squat. Everything in his life was fine. Everything that thousands upon thousands dream of… And great parents, who always supported him and gave him the opportunity not only to get a good education, but also to never deny himself anything. What’s more! At thirty-four, Leshka was practically the owner of a medical clinic. And a five-room apartment in an elite building. And many, many various small and pleasant circumstances. Everything was in order.

Only one obsessive idea prevented him from living peacefully and feeling happy. He knew for certain that SHE existed. And that he absolutely had to find her. Had to, but so far hadn’t found her.

The sense of her presence in the world was so vivid that sometimes he simply forgot that they hadn’t met yet. As if a program recorded in his subconscious was launching again and again, surfacing. Lately this circumstance had become a real torment, a torture.

Nothing was happening. One day was like another. Faces and people changed. Some left, others came, there were many of them. Many people, many girls. Many. But they were strangers. Good, bad, wicked, kind, smart, stupid, cunning, simple, but strangers. SHE was not there.

He so wanted to simply talk to someone about HER. About how he just couldn’t find her or meet her. But it was somehow awkward. So strange. Social status. Public image. All of this prevented him from simply talking about HER. Even with a close friend. Even with Shurik!

No, Shurik, of course, knew in general terms and from Lyoshka’s words that he had once met a girl. The acquaintance was fleeting. He hadn’t managed to ask for her phone number, since she unexpectedly and quickly left, but he cannot forget the girl, and he cannot find her either.

That’s how it was. All of this was, of course, a fabrication. Lyoshka hadn’t met anyone. He simply couldn’t say that he was looking for someone who didn’t exist. Not yet. But he knew for certain that SHE existed in general, in this world. And even her image was familiar. And when he met her, he would recognize her at first sight. He would simply look into her eyes and immediately understand, feel, that it was HER.

All these thoughts and memories raced through Lyoshka’s head. The sharp sound of a bicycle horn brought him out of his reverie. Some cheerful old man in a stretched-out striped undershirt and a fur ushanka hat rode past and almost ran his front wheel over Alexei’s legs. He smiled a toothless smile, tried to wink with one of his blackened and swollen eyes, and shouted loudly to the entire completely empty street:

— Sitting around here, all of you! A man can’t even get through!

Lyoshka smiled and nodded his head, as if to say: “Yes! Yes! I get it!” He got up and walked toward the embankment. He had to go pick up his friend Shurik.

About the book and the project

The creation of this book was preceded by the discovery of a unique archive of hypnosis sessions that belonged to a self-taught hypnotist from the seventies. His records, dated twenty-five years back, ended up with a certified therapist practicing progressive hypnosis. They contained observational data spanning more than eight years, at a time when past-life regressions were only just beginning to appear in our country.

The archive was discovered by a young woman in an apartment she had inherited. It came with instructions demanding that the research begun by the archive’s author be continued. Four years of work and more than seventy sessions of immersion into past lives made it possible to gather unique material.

With the permission of the heiress, all these materials were handed over to the author. What became known about the laws of life on Earth turned out to be far more serious than mysticism or esotericism. Every step of a person is already recorded, every decision is not accidental, and everything that happens to us is one of the variants of reality.

The author transformed the archival data into a work of fiction, adding characters and events that can be understandable and close to the reader. The meaning of the original events was preserved in the process.

It was with this book that the path began toward the creation of a project that today is a platform for analyzing dreams. It is based on thousands of dreams, confirmed by realizations, and the identified patterns between dream symbols and real events.
