A dream that came true: smoke from a frying pan and a wave

A project participant shared a dream.

She sees a swimming pool, and next to it her brother is cooking in a frying pan. Suddenly the frying pan starts to smoke, and smoke billows out. She becomes uneasy, an unpleasant feeling. Suddenly a huge, tall wave rises out of the pool. She looks at it from below, upward, and realizes it is about to engulf her.

The wave engulfed her, carried her away; she swam, choked on the water, but in the end she swam out.

Realization: in life, she and her brother had a big quarrel. There was a loud confrontation—that is the smoke. She was so worried that emotionally she was overwhelmed, just as in the dream. For a long time she could not cope with her emotions—she choked—but in the end she calmed down after a while—she swam out.

A dream that came true: white smoke and the renewal of a relationship

The participant had a dream. Morning, she is outside, the workday is beginning. A woman in a suit approaches, resembling a boss or a teacher. She calls her to follow her; they enter a house-museum. The woman leads her to a bread oven and says: “Bake delicious bread, only you know how.”

She opens the oven—a little white smoke comes out, old smoke that had lingered in the oven for a long time. The firewood that had once burned was in good condition; it had been put out right away. Inside the oven there was another room, very clean, with a white cupboard.

She begins to remove dried dirt from the wall, but not all of it. A man who likes her enters the room. She goes outside. It is sunny there, and water from melting snow flows quickly along the road. Part of the water flows into one yard; the gate is closed. The man comes out of the house with speakers and starts playing cheerful music.

Implementation: in August she had a meeting with her ex-husband’s aunt. The aunt wanted them to reconcile. She agreed and began communicating. The aunt made it clear that he had been with other women, but had never been as happy as he was with her. They discussed his problems, she helped him sort things out. In October the conversation was heartfelt, the relationship resumed, but not up to the family level. He made it clear that he wanted to meet by the end of the year. She said “I’ll think about it,” he was glad.

White smoke – a scandal without noise. Firewood – their short-lived relationship, which suddenly ended. The room inside the stove – living together after separation. Dirt – her help to him. Water, fast current – emotions during the conversation. Snow – the resumption of the conversation. The gate – family relations, which are closed.

A dream come true: smoke and domestic violence

A participant asked for help in response to a dream. She is at school sleeping on chairs in the classroom. Her husband comes in. It begins – he smothers her with blankets and pillows, fills the air with smoke. She tries to break free, but cannot. An unfamiliar man comes up, pulls her husband away, drives him off, hugs her and says: “He will never hurt you again. Everything will be fine with us.”

Answer: school – she is in the process of solving a task, a lesson about relationships. She is sleeping – in a state of inaction. Her husband does what he wants. She will try to break free, but will not be able to do it on her own. A man will appear in her life who will help her get out of the troubled relationship. He will support her, she will feel relief, protection, warmth and comfort.

What to do if you dreamed of smoke
