What an icon means in a dream: dream interpretation and stories that came true

Icons in a dream are significant symbols. They foretell help and protection during a difficult period or warn of dangers. If you dreamed of an icon, the dream points to an important event in your life.

A database collected over years of the project’s work helps to make sense of the details. In our app there are more than 7,000 symbols that are not publicly available. The website has only a fragment. It also contains stories from participants whose dreams came true in reality.

What an icon means in a dream: the main meaning

Icons in dreams are significant symbols. By their appearance in dreams, they always foretell two situations depending on the context of the dream. The first is help and protection during a difficult or important period of life. The second is that they warn of dangers.

All of this can be understood from the plot of the dream itself, the appearance of the icon and its condition, and your own feelings.

The saint on the icon always points to the “nature,” the issue, the sphere of life of the upcoming event. Therefore, if you remember whose face was on the icon in the dream, be sure to take that into account. If you do not know, read or ask everything you can about the icon.

You can check all the details of the dream in the app. There are more than 7,000 symbols there, and each is determined based on analytics of thousands of the project’s dreams that came true. There is no such database on the website.

The meaning of the saints on an icon

For example. The Mother of God is a symbol of care for children, Jesus Christ is the Savior, Panteleimon is a healer, Archangel Michael is an intercessor, George the Victorious (a warrior), Nicholas the Wonderworker (a helper) — all these saints point to their own aspect that characterizes the event.

Also, in dreams, name icons often appear. In this case, they directly point to a person with the same name.

By the appearance and condition of the icon in a dream, you can understand that you are being “reassured,” letting you know that help and protection are on your side, or that something bad will happen.

If we take into account the existing dream reports about icons on the project, we can conclude that in any case, the presence of the symbol of an icon in a dream, even if the dream foretells trouble, leaves a chance for salvation, reassurance, and help. In fatal situations, symbols of the church or saints are completely absent in dreams.

The expanded meaning of this symbol, with all the details, can be found in our app. There is a complete database of the project’s dream book — more than 7000 symbols, which is not available in open access. We even have dreams that are not in any dream book, because these are not invented symbols, but real ones that came true.

Praying before an icon and the beautiful face of an icon

Praying before an icon in a dream is a symbol of consolation and support.

Seeing the beautiful face of an icon means that your worries and hardships will be left behind.

If in a dream the icon falls, if something happens to it (something bad), if it burns, disappears, and so on, the dream foretells great misfortunes. Read reports about dreams about icons that came true in the BLOGS.

A dream that came true about three icons: mom’s death

This is just one example out of thousands. The world’s largest database of dreams that came true is collected in our app. There you will find stories that will confirm or refute your guesses.

A participant’s story:

The dream occurred on 08/20/2011. I dream that I am praying. Before me are three icons: the Mother of God, Matronushka, and Nicholas the Wonderworker. I crossed myself twice, and twice in a row the icons disappear from the wall. They appeared again. And the third time I crossed myself, I raise my head, and all the icons disappeared completely.

How the dream came true:

09/06/11 I find out that my mom has cancer. 11/11/2011 my mom was gone. Three times the icons disappeared from the wall; the third time they did not appear again. For three more months my mom was still among us.

The dream showed: the disappearance of the icons in the dream coincided with the real situation when illness and death touched a loved one.

A dream that came true about paper icons: the result in reality

A participant’s story:

The dream occurred more than 2 years ago. In May. We were expecting a positive result in the resolution of a certain matter. In this situation, our acquaintances were with us.

I dreamed that I and our acquaintance are sitting in a car, a Zhiguli 9, cherry or dark red in color. I am in the passenger seat, the acquaintance is in the driver’s seat. In my hands I have 2 paper icons. I give one to him; he takes it reluctantly. I say take it, take it, don’t be afraid. And I put my own (the second) icon in the glove compartment and closed it.

How the dream came true:

Acquaintances got a positive result, but we had no luck. The red car means a stressful, tense situation. In the driver’s seat was an acquaintance; they managed everything—they hustled, even though it wasn’t entirely legal. I was in the passenger seat—I relied on “maybe,” one could say I was drifting with the current. And the icons: the man accepted the icon, received a blessing, while I “closed” mine.

Timeline: the situation began in October, and the resolution came in June. That’s 9 months. So it’s also a dark-red “nine.”

The dream showed: the paper icons and the number 9 in the dream matched the real situation, when the matter lasted 9 months and the outcome depended on actions.

A dream that came true about a burned family icon: the death of a brother

The participant’s story:

Before the death, I dreamed that I was entering my office. There was a fireplace, with our family icon on it. It was charred. I lashed out at an employee: why was the icon charred… he says he was leaving and forgot to put it out.

How the dream came true:

In reality, that fireplace was built by my brother. At 6 a.m. that day, the phone rang—they told me my brother had died.

A family icon means an indication about the family. It was charred because of the fireplace—since the death occurred of a person within the family, the very one who had built it. This is an indication that an event will happen to this person that will cast a shadow over the whole family.

The dream showed: the burned family icon in the dream matched the real situation, when a close person died.
