A temple in a dream means consolation and help. If you dreamed of a temple, the dream points to your state of mind, repentance, or receiving support in a difficult situation.
A database collected over years of the project’s work helps to sort out the details. In our application there are more than 7000 symbols that are not publicly available. The website has only a fragment. It also contains stories from participants whose dreams came true in reality.
What does a temple mean in a dream: the main meaning
Praying in a temple in a dream — to find yourself in a difficult life situation and ask for help, if there were alarming, threatening signs in the dream. If it was calm and beautiful — to worry about the well-being of your family and children.
Going to a temple in a dream – a sign of repentance and remorse. You will ask for help.
Being in a temple in a dream – consolation, whatever your worries or troubles may be, you will receive it.
A destroyed temple in a dream means failures and setbacks in life later on.
Buying candles in a temple – you will have an opportunity to improve your affairs.
Crying in a temple – repentance and release from problems.
Entering a temple in a dream (crossing the threshold or going through the door) with a loved one means separation from them. But being together in a temple – prosperity and peace.
You can check all the details of a dream in the app. It contains more than 7,000 symbols, and each one is defined based on analytics of thousands of dreams from the project that came true. The website does not have such a database.
Standing in a temple, lighting a candle, and a funeral service
Standing in a temple in a dream means consolation. If the temple burned down in the dream, it means major changes in life for the worse.
Lighting a candle in a temple and setting it alight means well-being and joy.
A funeral service in a temple means you will worry about the end of a relationship or the end of some matter.
The expanded meaning of this symbol, with all the details, can be found in our app. It contains the project’s complete dream book database – more than 7,000 symbols, which is not available publicly. We even have dreams that are not in any dream book, because these are not invented symbols, but real ones that came true.
Searching for a temple, a beautiful temple, and a temple under construction
Searching for a temple in a dream – if you do not find it, you will not receive help in a difficult matter; if you find it, consolation and help.
Seeing a beautiful temple in a dream means grace and peace.
Seeing a temple under construction in a dream is a guarantee of future well-being.
Building a temple yourself in a dream means you will be able to secure a decent life for yourself with your own hands.
Washing the floor in a temple means repentance.
Icons, domes, a service, a priest, and a wedding in a temple
In such a dream, it is important to remember which icon it was exactly.
The domes of the temple are beautiful and intact, in normal condition; they are dreamed of as a symbol that your worries are empty and everything will be fine. Conversely, if something happened to them and there are defects, it means your fears will be confirmed.
A service in a temple means a noisy event that everyone will know about. As a rule, the event is negative in nature, but for everyone involved in it, it will have its own consequences.
A priest or any other minister is dreamed of as help from a specific person to you.
A wedding in a temple means big changes and the troubles associated with them. However, this does not mean at all that they will be bad. They will simply take up all your strength, time and thoughts.
A fulfilled dream about a temple and a tsunami: a trip to the border
This is just one example out of thousands. The world’s largest database of fulfilled dreams is collected in our app. There you will find stories that will confirm or refute your guesses.
A participant’s story:
I am in some unfamiliar area. I am standing by the sea and as if slightly from above, from a hill, I am looking at it. I see a beach, mountains descending into the water (into the sea), there are many people swimming there. The sea is calm and a beautiful blue-green color. It is daytime, very bright and sunny, the landscape is beautiful.
I observe this picture and see far on the horizon an elevation like a tsunami wave. The sea itself is a pleasant blue, but the wave seems brown. I tell people about this wave and understand that I need to quickly “get out of there”; there is still time.
I find myself on a hill and see this sea already from above, I’m standing on some kind of platform, maybe like an observation deck. The whole picture below is clearly visible. There are many strangers around me. Next to me is also my husband, but he looks like a teenager. And he sleeps all the time (in the dream). I look at the sea again and a wave is approaching. Then I shake my husband awake, he puts on his shoes. And I push him up the mountain, I tell him to climb up there.
Then before me on this mountain appeared an ancient temple. Not a church, but specifically a temple like in the countries of India, maybe Asia. I want to go into it and take shelter there, but there are no stairs into the temple and I climb into it over some ruins.
Eventually, I reach the foot of the temple and then someone invisible seemed to put something on my head or clasped it from the sides, there was a slight pressure on my head. After that, my husband and I were already inside the temple, we were let in and given shelter.
The people in this temple are somehow majestic, unfamiliar to me neither by status, nor by race, nor by grandeur. These are people of another level. There was a young girl and seemingly her father, a king. We sit at a table, eat, talk.
Then I went out onto the terrace of this temple and again looked at the sea. I looked from very high up. The sea is very clean, bright sun, a bunch of people were swimming in it. But I knew that there was a tsunami wave there, it is a threat to those people. Why don’t they see it and don’t save themselves?
And then I see from behind the mountain, upside down past people, a house floated by across the sea. It’s a siding house with a red roof, looks like a country cottage, and it floated past lying on its side or something. A sharp commotion of everything began.
Then there was a sharp collapse of the mountain by the sea. The wave covered and swept away everything around that beach and sea. People there started running away, panic began among them.
I observe all this from the temple, the landscape is still entirely sunny. I understand that a mass of people from the sea is about to pour into the temple. Some crowds have already entered it. I say that the doors need to be closed, but no one had closed them.
Then some women ask me to help their infant child, he was wheezing in his throat. I took him in my arms, heard his wheezing and was about to help him, knowing perfectly well how.
Then I told the girl, the king’s daughter, that we needed to go to another place. She said she would take me there, she took a blanket, shook awake my sleeping husband who was there, and he and I followed her. I was still holding that wheezing infant in my arms and thought that I would save him.
She opened the door and we went out after her from the temple. Where we ended up I did not understand, in some room or vestibule, it was very dark there, nothing at all visible, and it was raining. I heard its sound, the noise of the rain and some crackling to the right above my ear. I said “turn on the light” and woke up.
How the dream came true:
In fact, I really did unexpectedly go to the sea, where there are small mountains and a beach. Though it was not quite the season, people were swimming there. Very bright sun every day. It was not a vacation, it was already my forced trip, in order to carry out a previously planned action and try to achieve a goal.
After a short respite at the sea, I “set off” further toward the border of my country. The path was far and long (in the dream I was climbing a mountain in tiers). All this time, the shadow of the task awaiting me hung over me, sapping and straining me. But I kept my goal in mind and thereby encouraged myself (I keep looking at that wave and feeling its movement).
I was not afraid, but the stress was definitely considerable.
Having reached the border and explained my situation to the border guards, I asked them for help and the possibility of bringing the child home. We were let in, they took a long time sorting things out, and put us in jail. There I saw many people of different races, nationalities and social groups. They were people alien to me. In the cells everyone slept on the floor. Cramped, very much so, all on top of each other.
But! All this kaleidoscope swirled before my eyes, but it affected me not as terribly as it did the other people. We were quickly released from the cell and spent most of the time in a hall with the staff, where one could at least breathe properly.
In the end, it was the jail staff who processed the documents we needed. One could say they helped me a great deal and partly resolved my long-standing problem, and, having released us from jail, let us go home. The process there was handled by an elderly man and a young woman, both dark-haired. In any case, these are people of a different level, because they are government employees.
The ending of my dream frightened me – darkness, nothing visible, and rain. In fact, we were released from jail in the middle of the night. The staff member simply opened the door and led us out into complete darkness, onto a deserted street, and, wishing us all the best, walked away. I stood alone with the child, stunned, dumbfounded, in an unfamiliar area, but already on the territory of my country of residence! So it seems the ending of the dream simply reflected pure information of the atmosphere. That is how my saga ended. My husband was not involved in all this (in the dream he was sleeping the whole time), or more precisely, before the border, we each went our own way.
Now I understand why the sun was shining the entire time throughout such an emotionally intense dream. It supported me and illuminated my difficult but successful path. Since deciding to do such a thing and actually doing it is probably only possible once in a lifetime, and even then only by turning off all possible logic.
A temple in a dream: what to do after waking up
Did you dream about a temple? Here is what you should do right after waking up.
Write down the dream while you still remember the details. What was the temple like? Beautiful, destroyed, under construction?
Recall what you were doing. Praying, standing, looking for a temple, building one?
Check whether you managed to enter the temple. If so, you will receive comfort and help.
Pay attention to whether the temple was destroyed. If so, setbacks and failures are possible.
You can check the full interpretation in the app. The algorithm takes into account all the details of the dream and shows a complete picture. It also has more than 7,000 symbols that cannot be found on the website.
And if you want not just to read about dreams but to induce them, the app has practices and affirmations. They help you receive prophetic dreams and answers to important questions.

I am asking for help in interpreting a dream.
I am in the multi-story building of my childhood, in the apartment of a childhood friend, more precisely on her balcony. I flew to the place where the kindergarten near the building used to be, the one I attended. In its place there is a green mountain, medium in height. I see people climbing the mountain, and I decided to fly and see what is happening there. I flew up to the top of the mountain and saw two men unknown to me and a single-story, wide temple. They were making sacrifices. One of them did so, and then I saw how many double-leaf, sliding doors, about ten, began to open one after another into the depths of the temple. The last gates opened as well, and then I saw an open space, that is, I saw the temple through and through. I only watched from the side and did not enter the temple. This happened about 2 times, and then I decided to go inside. But then the second man made a “sacrifice,” and then the “spirit of the mountain” became enraged, and all the doors closed, and the mountain began to shake violently.
I hear one saying to the other:
– Why is this so? After all, I gave gifts to the Ruler of the mountain, but he did not accept them and became angry.
And the second answers him:
– You gave just food, what you did not mind giving away, while I gave the very best, choicest, that I could give. (There is a similar plot in the story of Jacob and his brother from the Old Testament.)
I quickly flew back to the balcony, like a crow.
Thank you in advance
Such a dream won’t just come to you on its own. Remember what you were thinking about and what was troubling you before you saw it. In this dream, all the signs concern you and indicate that you won’t get by with half measures in achieving your goal—you need to give it your all.
Victoria, thank you for your help and hint. Since what I saw concerns only me, I understood the meaning of the dream. The balcony speaks of my precarious state at the moment, but it is already glazed and reinforced, like my friend’s. The situation is improving. I have returned to faith and reassessed my life. And to fix my life completely, half measures won’t do, that’s for sure. I was just thinking about it, that one cannot serve two forces, one must decide for oneself which side one is on – the light or the dark.
That is, there is no third option. Everyone makes a choice and bears the consequences of their actions.
