Don’t be surprised, but often after dreams about problems with a roof, someone in the family ends up in the hospital with a stroke, for example. That is, the roof is the area of the head. Also, the roof of an administrative building can point to a “roof” – patronage and protection within the system. And also, a leaking roof in dreams often points to “financial problems” that seem to come “out of nowhere” (unexpectedly).
A roof or roofing in a dream represents the mechanisms of protection from external influences. If you dreamed of a roof, the dream points to your sense of security and your position in life.
A database collected over years of the project’s work helps to sort out the details. In our app there are more than 7000 symbols that are not publicly available. The website has only a fragment. It also contains stories from participants whose dreams came true in reality.
What a roof means in a dream: the main meaning
A roof or roofing in a dream represents the mechanisms of protection from external influences in life.
Repairing a roof (roofing) is an attempt, as well as an opportunity, to “strengthen a weak position.”
Such a dream comes when a certain problem has appeared in your life or in the life of your family, and you feel hurt.
You can check all the details of the dream in the app. There are more than 7000 symbols there, and each one is determined based on analytics of thousands of the project’s dreams that came true. The website does not have such a database.
Being on a roof, walking on a roof, and sitting on a roof
Being on a roof, standing on a roof – a “high position” in some sense (check the context of the dream).
Walking on a roof – a risky undertaking.
Being on a roof and feeling anxiety, unease – a broader vision of the situation that has formed has given rise to the fear that you will not be able to keep everything under control.
Sitting on a roof (rooftop) – a calm life without problems.
An expanded meaning of this symbol, with all the details, can be found in our app. It contains the complete dream dictionary database of the project – more than 7000 symbols, which is not available in the public domain. We even have dreams that are not in any dream dictionary, because these are not invented symbols, but real ones that came true.
A leaking, broken roof and the absence of a roof
A leaking roof (rooftop) – emotional stress, worries.
A broken roof (rooftop) – a feeling of being defenseless.
The absence of a roof (rooftop) – if the dream is not of a threatening nature – almost always – these are dreams of adepts of meditative practices, when consciousness is expanded to the point of connection with the world in the broad sense.
It can also be dreamed by a student (rarely, since there is no stability yet, a feeling of threat and fear arises). If the dream is of a threatening nature – stress, an extreme degree of anxiety, a feeling of threat from outside.
Falling from a roof, jumping from a roof, and building a roof
Falling from a roof in a dream – to troubles, disappointments, news, and misfortune.
Jumping off a roof – trouble of your own making (it could be the loss of a certain status or position).
Building a roof – you will be able to provide prosperity for yourself and your family on your own.
The roof of a house is on fire – the death of the owners or ruin.
Riding on the roof of a train – achieving a cherished goal.
A leaky roof – a threat to your well-being.
A dream about a collapsed roof that came true: the mother-in-law’s illness
This is just one example out of thousands. The world’s largest database of dreams that came true is collected in our app. There you will find stories that will confirm or disprove your guesses.
A participant’s story:
Recently I had a dream that the roof of our house collapsed. My husband and I are standing outside and we saw the whole thing. I say: “well, we’ll have to repair it, maybe we’ll need to borrow from father, well, what can you do? We’ll manage.”
That is, it didn’t frighten me or shock me. By the way, the kitchen remained untouched, but when I went inside, it was as it had been before the renovation. In real life, this is the house of my mother-in-law’s parents (she was born and grew up here). The house was transferred by deed of gift to the husband, that is, to the son.
How the dream came true:
A couple of days later, my mother-in-law ended up in the hospital, it was serious. Father (her husband) gave money and helped. We went around and drove to doctors and hospitals.
The dream showed: the collapsed roof in the dream coincided with the real situation when illness struck the family, and help came from father.
A roof in a dream: what to do after waking up
Did you dream about a roof? Here’s what you should do right after waking up.
Write down the dream while you remember the details. What was the roof like? Intact, leaking, collapsed?
Remember what you were doing. Standing on the roof, repairing it, falling?
Check whether the roof was full of holes or broken. If so, there may be a threat to your well-being.
Note whether the dream involved repairing the roof. If so, you will try to strengthen a weak position.
You can check the full interpretation in the app. The algorithm takes into account all the details of the dream and shows the complete picture. It also has more than 7,000 symbols that you won’t find on the website.
And if you want not just to read about dreams but to induce them, the app has practices and affirmations. They help you receive prophetic dreams and answers to important questions.
Conclusion
A roof in a dream is a symbol of protection and status. It points to your security and problems in life or family.
If the roof is leaking, expect stress. If it has collapsed, serious events are possible. If you are building a roof, you will be able to ensure prosperity.
For an accurate understanding, you need a database with verified meanings. It was compiled over years, and every symbol in it is confirmed by real dreams that came true. All of this is available in our app. It has more than 7,000 symbols and practices for prophetic dreams. The website has only a small part of the dream dictionary.

I didn’t find the meaning of “Ceiling” in the dream book, probably it’s some kind of limitations or obstacles
moison, our interpretation of symbols is tied to the action performed with them, so in the dream book, one should look for: a falling ceiling, a leaking ceiling, etc.
And as for that dream about the doves and the clearing, it turns out, if my fear when the guy got closer to the city is a premonition of a breakup, then is this a dream about the past? It’s just that the dream happened after the breakup.
There was hidden information, yes, and obstacles, but the dependence is interesting—by what symbols is it visible? The doves themselves? It’s just that a dove often appeared in my dreams before, when the relationship was ongoing, before the person called or something else. That’s why I’m interested—I’d like first of all to decipher my own dreams myself.
I just saw in the dream that I was feeding a baby dove, and it was eating, and that it was as if the guy and I had taken it from an owlet, so I thought these were good signs.
But in reality, in the beginning of the relationship, for the first year and a half, he showed more initiative, but lately, that’s true, it was more like I was trying something, he less so—he was already more just coming to the conclusion that he had ruined everything and that it wasn’t meant to be. So here you’re right.
As for it being more a soul need—I don’t know, he’s very secretive, I can’t say anything here (
Thank you very much, Victoria – I basically understood that it was some kind of decision (I also understand a decision about what), but I didn’t know how to understand the roof – whether it meant logically making a decision, or on the contrary listening to intuition, or something else.
Please tell me, a couple of weeks ago I posted a dream in the comments to Dream Interpretation, Symbols of Love – maybe it would be possible to also learn your opinion about it? I would be very interested. I also posted it in the blogs, and the girls helped a lot, but while there is such luck and you apparently have a little time, it would be great to hear your view as well.
In the blogs this dream is here https://magickum.com/answers/mashina-golub-chaj
Look at the symbols:
…we were with him on some patch of green grass, like a small clearing,
– time limitation (of the relationship);
…so we were both there in this clearing, I approached him and just clung with my whole body and he did the same, and it was very good to be with him and feel him, then we hugged it seems and he said it would be good if I made him some tea
– these are your relations (clinging to each other), and when he asks to make tea – it is a sign that he spends good time with you, he has a need, rather spiritual, for such an emotional connection (not only physical), one can also say that you almost always met in the evenings (most likely);
…close to the edge of the clearing and the city which is in front of it we see better, but I am afraid that the car might slide off.
– premonition of a breakup;
…And before that it was as if we had a pigeon (in reality I have a pigeon with a broken wing, found on the street), so it was as if we had this pigeon of mine, and it was as if there was an owlet or some bird of prey, a chick, and a second pigeon, smaller, so unkempt,
-immediately there appeared symbols of dependence, obstacles to normal relations, hidden information (in your case it is the owlet), a bird of prey – a threat of troubles. And all this is a characteristic of your union, everything that is in your relations and between you. Quite a lot of negativity, and first of all for you, despite the fact that you know it, feel it, but still want to “nurture” your chicks, that is, you hope to influence the situation for its improvement.
Until the end of your dream, you, as apparently in life, tried to eliminate insurmountable contradictions (that is probably what it is correctly called), although, all the same – the problems are obvious. Apparently, you are the only one fighting in your union (were fighting…)
Victoria, I replied to you there, but perhaps you didn’t see it. Thank you so much for the comment on the dream; there are two more dreams I posted here about this relationship, maybe you could comment on them? I would be very glad.
here they are https://magickum.com/answers/priezd-parnya-zakat-kuxnya-obsuzhdenie-snov-on-lajn
and the second https://magickum.com/answers/postel-poceluj-obsuzhdenie-snov-on-lajn
I understand this might be super cheeky, but maybe you have time. All these dreams were dreamed recently, after the breakup, so I’m wondering what to do with them.
I am at my grandma and grandpa’s house in the kitchen, and there are lots of green grapes, but ripe ones specifically, I eat them, they’re tasty, then there also seem to be unripe green grapes, I either just see them or set them aside, or eat a few and set them aside, but these grapes are in a bag and I supposedly need to take them somewhere, and grandpa and grandma are already getting a bit annoyed that I’m not taking them, and grandma says the key is on the roof.
We take the bag and now we’re already on the path (in reality this is the road from grandpa’s house to my mom’s house, but in the dream we’re on the way to wherever I need to take the grapes, it seems), and I’m running along it at some kind of sporty run for some reason, while grandma and grandpa are walking behind me a little ways back, and it’s as if I intend to cover the whole distance at this sporty run. and it seems dark, nighttime, but something is lighting me and them from behind or from the side, some headlights, or something, I don’t know.
You need to make some important decision, and do so thoughtfully (solving a problem is the key; thinking it over is the roof; the roof is also a symbol of a “defense mechanism” in life regarding social aspects), but at the same time quickly (they are rushing you). The matter concerns not only you but also your family and parents (particularly your mother). Either directly or indirectly.
Victoria, please tell me, if in a dream they said that the key could be found on the roof, what exactly could this mean?
Thank you.
This information is not enough. If possible, in more detail.
